Other than the word "AnimeTosho" , it seems to have nothing to do with creating a site that works like this one. Looks like either an April Fools gag or an effort to pull eyeballs.

A copy of the message for those who don't want to make an account:
Welcome to AmeNZB!
March 24, 2026 Welcome to ameNZB!
ameNZB is an anime-focused Usenet indexer built for the community. With the legendary AnimeTosho indexer coming to an end, we were inspired to step in and do our part to help fill the gap.
Our approach differs from AnimeTosho. We aim to leverage community-powered torrent proxying to Usenet, creating a more dynamic and scalable system. To support this, we’ll be releasing an app and Docker container that make it easy for users to contribute and participate in community-driven requests. Download
Over time, we plan to introduce incentives for contributors, such as increased NZB downloads, higher API limits, and potentially invites if the platform ever becomes private.
We are currently in an alpha phase, so please be patient with any downtime or performance issues. Your feedback is extremely important to us—we’re building ameNZB to serve the community, and we want to make sure it meets your needs.
After reading some comments from user here, now I'm sure some people don't even know what Anime Tosho actually is and it shows. Thank you for this site.
On the bottom of ameNZB.moe it says "ameNZB operates exclusively as a Usenet indexing service. We do not host, store, or distribute any content. ameNZB indexes publicly available content from the Usenet network and provides access to NZB files containing reference metadata only."
Any evidence that they're really trying to see about "recreating" this site? Because the only thing that they would need is the "backend code" itself to run this place which only this site's administrator has (and as they stated, plan to see about posting the "backend code" in due time, apparently before the site operation itself here shuts down).
Mirroring the NZB files here means they will also stop getting new content next month. Part of what Anime Tosho does is take the torrents and create a newsgroup post from them mirroring the content. Once Anime Tosho stops doing that sites won't have anything to borrow unless someone takes over that mirroring duty.

For the Usenet users: I do not know if you are aware but some Usenet indexers have already been mirroring the NZB files from here to their indexer for many years.
One of them being SceneNZBs - scenenzbs.com. Go check them out. Registration is open.
For the Torrent and DDL users: Maybe you want to look into adding Usenet to your setup :-)
i love how admin never showed us ads for his profit just for ease of use, not even a single tracker or anything, god bless you, i hope god makes you more rich
Really hoping someone will use the data that our gracious admin leaves behind for us and makes a site that retains all the past records of old torrents and their respective information (comments included). This site is so amazing because when nyaa takes down a torrent and you can no longer find it this site has a record still of the date it was posted. This history has to be preserved please!
Yes I did, and multiple devices. Others in northern europe have the same issue. It's not a dns block, it's an issue with the anti ddos service that nyaa uses. Other sites that use the same anti ddos service dont work in northern europe.
Thanks for your message! This website will remain after updates stop. I don't know for how long it'll remain online after that (I'll likely monitor traffic and base my decision off that), but I'll likely close all user contributions at some point, then release a stripped copy of the website's database for preservationists.

Hi admin, sad to hear the news.
Idk if you remember me since there are so many people here daily but I'm the dude that created the kanbaru user style a few years back, also the one that provided that kumpulbagi/diskocosmiko upload script right before they both shut down lmao.
You are an inspiration and touched the lives of millions of people with this project. It pains me that it's going away but I know better than trying to change your mind. I can only wonder what's going on in the background that pushed you to this decision. Please release as much of the components as you possibly can, this is more than a website, it's a piece of history and a beacon of what the internet should be. Also, if I could ask a selfish request, please export the feedback and torrent comments too. While basic, it's still a time capsule of the community built around here and would hate that to be lost.
The uploader may have provided such info in the description (you may need to visit source site links to see the full description). You can also try clicking on the filename to view the mediainfo. If it's available, it will list the audio tracks in the file, under which, search for "Language".

can anyone tell me how to distinguish in the description if the movie has sppeaking english dubbed in cheers
Only just heard the news or I'd have posted sooner, will definitely be a pity to see the site go. Even just the extracting of subs has been a great feature, I've used this site hundreds of times over the years for that. Alone, you've saved the legacy of 11.5 years of fansubs, even after they're long dead and unfindable. Will be looking out for whatever batch files are released. admin, I hope whatever you move on to is just as successful, and I hope someone else does keep the same ideas alive.

did you try a different dns? sometimes only dns is blocked so you can access nyaa with a different one, i recommend dns.adguard-dns.com just see a yt video or the adguard-dns.com also has method to apply
I love you. Unfortunately websites like nyaa stopped working in northern europe like 1 year ago, so animetosho is really the only website I have been able to use that has a large range of up to date content (without having to use a VPN). Sad that it's going away. I hope a good alternative will eventually show up.
Thanks for the suggestion. I expect traffic here to significantly drop after updates stop. After that, I'll monitor traffic to this site, which I expect to fall off more slowly. The website will be long gone before 2029, so any requests to the domain would be dead for years before I lose the domain. Anything that happens after that is no longer my concern.
So far none, maybe there download or streaming sites but shame (poor quality), they might put watermark on videos.

you should own the website name for along as your alive / can afford the name scammers will upload virus and torjan after 2029- so try to "own" it for as long as u can even if nothing is hosted.
Hi, do you know of any alternative sites where you can download subtitles directly, like here? I make my own subtitles in my native language, and losing this site and the subtitles available for current airing anime will be a painful loss.
Hello, does the admin plan to freely download all nzb files after the data indexer is closed? I would like to have them backed up, thanks for the reply.
So all Usenet index sites for anime depend on this one website? So Geek, Ninja, and others just won't have anime anymore on them? This website is the only website that allows them to be out on the Usenet groups to be downloaded?
They are, but Usenet is also really useful. I guess those days are now ending for anime. :( I am really going to miss this site. Thanks to the site owner who did it long as he has.
