If you're using .ttf?v=3000 fonts you can use Aegisub to attach them to the .ass file. They display in the video exactly as if they had been installed. Been doing that for years without issue.

Thank you. Thats a good idea, but is there a way to "pack up" attachments + .ass file into a ".sub" file? I have a sub file that has fonts in it as a single file, but that is for another video. I cant find any results on th web on how to do that. I would appreciate if you know something about that kind of file.

Just install the required fonts from the attachments folder, so they become available system wide to be used by media software.

How to load fonts with an .ass file without muxing?
I load an external subtitle file (.ass format) with attachments folder near it, but in the show fonts dont get loaded,only subs.
(I dont even intend on spending time muxing subs.)
