I think they switched API at the time and the code stopped working. Also they tended to convert PNGs to JPEGs, so I didn't bother trying to get it to work again.

I downloaded 2 Direct links today.  Speed was normal for me, about 6MB per second combined, 3MB per sec each simultaneously, or faster.

As for suggestions, I get the best results generally by using Firefox's native download.  Download managers sometimes don't work or don't work as well for the Direct links.

You could also try clearing any caches, DNS, etc.

Guys I got a problem, lately I feel like the direct link seems slower than previous. I mean the download speed falls at least 50 times. At first I thought it's my internet connection, but as I checked it, everything seems normal. Please anyone explain this, or if it's already questioned before please give the link. ~always appreciate the works.
