Different file hosts are speedy or convenient or accessible differently for different people/locations. Some file hosts that have been actively requested give me terrible service. Some that work well for me don't work well for others, or aren't even accessible where they live. That's what the multiple file hosts are about.
As for adding to link life: 1. I think the vast majority of AT users tend to update on a weekly/daily/hourly/minute basis. It doesn't surprise me if after an initial surge no one downloads a file for the next 60 days after that (the 1Fichier inactivity limit). 2. I don't think you can build any kind of archive using file hosts, for a lot of reasons: They tend to die; They decide content violates their terms of service and delete, etc.
Probably the best archival-like option, for those interested, is to subscribe to a Usenet service. Links there last for years.
wouldn't be less file hosts be better? I think most files get deleted due to inactivity after a certain time period. If there would be LESS different hoster more people would download from the same host -> more activity -> less deleted files.
We download English-translated anime torrents from Nyaa and TT. That's the only way. We're about new content, and we generate about 75GB of new uploads every day. You might want to look into archival sites if you're interested in archival stuff, like http://chauthanh.info/anime/browse/All.html
Keeping links here alive, like an archive, would probably kill off our file hosts. AT generates about 75GB of uploads every day. If a file hoster deletes our files after 60 days:
At the rate of 75GB per day = 750GB per 10 days --> a constant 4.5TB of their storage that we occupy on a rotating basis. If their sites use any kind of file backups/redundancy, maybe 9TB.
If the 75GB per day were to be kept alive cumulatively, it would be 75GB/day times 365 days = 27,375GB or 27TB new storage consumed each year, or 54TB if they had file backups/redundancy.
Far outside of the realm of possibility, I think. If I had to guess, I think -as we are- we are probably close to the limits for our file hosts.
And new hosts would add more user options, but not change these constant or cumulative numerics.
Two other notes: 1. admin has experimented with keeping live links via a premium account. The first three hosts failed (died or did not deliver as promised). The fourth has so far kept links alive for 1 month longer than the free account at the same service. So a little early to judge, but hopeful maybe. 2. If you subscribe to a Usenet service, links there should be good for some years, I think.
TY for the subtitle split feature. No group releases script files these days and all the 2.0 flac releases always seems to be in raw only saved me a lot of needless downloading and demuxing!
Love what you've got going on here, greater than wonderful. A suggestion is it couldn't hurt to have links refreshed automatically every 6 months, considering it is initially an automatic process also. there are enough mirrors that usually some are still working, but it couldn't hurt to also stick in some fresh mirrors. Thanks for this site!
I liked that they listed those shows on what anidb considered a hentai page. Your bots must be going thru adolescence. Funny, creative, and growing up so fast!
I find Usenet to be one of my favourite methods of downloading to be honest, I can't count the amount of times it's been my saviour when it comes to getting old boxsets, movies and games, it's definitely reliable if on a good host. (I'm on Astraweb - massive retention!)
At the moment by the looks of it, it seems NZB's generated here are sourced from the town.ag website from a faithful anime lover uploader there, and if that's the case the password above will be the best one to add as the password in the info section of those particular downloads (Mostly Pikanet/PN8 rips of Funi-DL's).
Thanks for the comment. As you've probably already noticed, we don't actually generate any of the NZB links, so passwords etc are out of our control. There is currently a plan to create NZBs ourself, and when that's implemented, the uploads won't be password protected.
Great service you have here, can always count on you for quality and quick uploading, haven't missed anything in a long time :D
One question though, What is the Password for the NZB downloads? Can't seem to find any password for them in the FAQ or on the website sourced (Kametsu - Pikanet).
This was for the file [PN8] The Heroic Legend of Arslan S01E13 Funi-DL 1080p - NZB Download.
Hi admin i need help really bad when i download the attachments (mostly subs) either they dont extract or simply dont work after extracting is this they way there supposed to be or im missing something.
Regarding the series Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Zwei Herz!, it seems that torrents with "Illya" (two l) in their name are correctly sorted to this series while the ones named "Ilya" (one l, like [HorribleSubs]) are not. This Illya vs. Ilya thing again...
sigh.. seriously? oh well, i could see this as a good thing, like at least someone managed to encode this old anime from a vhs source to make it available for people like me to watch, oh well.. :P
over the last decade i managed to get such a great collection of these old and violent animes, theyre real treasures, thanks.
