Actually linking to Nyaa is a little tricky since the new submissions actually are treated as separate submissions.
Fortunately it'll only affect the few entries that were submitted in the past few days though.

Somehow, I feel like celebrating today.  Someone took down the main anime torrent site for 6 days (so far), and they only delayed my enjoyment of new anime programs by a few hours at best.  Ha!

-My respect to admin for pre-designing a site that can rock with the punches.  And my appreciation for all that it takes to run it.
-And my thanks to all the other anime fans that made fansubs work, regardless.  Some re-routed torrents.  Some created new channels of distribution and did other stuff.

The best victory over a DDoS is a yawn.

How have you evidenced this on these hosts?
In particular, Mega, where files are encrypted client side - how would they be able to determine the hash of any particular file?

We're not, and probably won't be unfortunately.
The more 'generic' torrent sites don't really sub-categorise - I only want to fetch English translated anime, and exclude RAWs for example.

I'm hoping Nyaa returns to normal in the near future, but I will keep a backup plan in mind just in case anyway.

I don't think we upload to Filecloud any more though. You said "many file-hosts" - what others apart from FileCloud have you noticed do this?

He gave that idea not long ago. Now he didn't thought that someone could upload to tt what's on other sites.

If only we could say the same for nyaa...

I save Naruto files on filecloud.io... Ones I didn't change MD5 were deleted after a month. But the ones I changed MD5 are still there after over an year.

Many file-hosts ban files with md5 file hash. That's why they are deleted so quickly.

Some uploads are wrapped in a 7z archive.
Though I find that most of the time, files disappear because they expire. I haven't seen much evidence that hash based checks are being used.

Update:

1. Our last new file from any source came in about 4 hours ago, but according to Horrible we are up to date with his releases as of this moment.  
2. About 12 hours from now will be the first business day after a 3 day holiday weekend in the US.  That will probably change things.

Thanks for the ideas.  But I expect we'll first wait and see what happens to Nyaa over the next couple of days.
