So, is Fileserve back? I was able to download with premium.

A FLAC audio stream is typically 100-150MB per episode (as opposed to, say, a 128kbps AAC stream which would be around 20-25MB per episode; why anyone would use AC3 is beyond me), but if you subtract the difference, their files are still large.
I'm actually not sure how they make their files so big, at least for their 720p encodes (excessive filtering?) - their x264 settings seem decent.

Anyway, I don't particularly like criticising people who give away their time for free, so I apologise for even starting the topic.

I see, perhaps in the future then.

PS: Coalgirl's releases include FLAC which is usually more bloated than AAC or AC3, perhaps their encoding settings also factored in the size.

PPS: Torrenting their releases now. =]

All hosts are uploaded to anonymously - accounts are never used.
I'm a bit iffy over raising the batch limit at the moment as I feel that the server is pretty much near its processing limits anyway. Maybe some day.
(mutters about how Coalgirls' releases are usually oversized anyway)

Are the files uploaded on bayfiles under anonymous? There seemed to be no captcha and countdown when i tried to download them.

When i went to the site, it says 5GB for everyone. Is that true? Can anyone testify to that?

On another note, could you raise the file size limit to 2GB if the server permits? This is due to quite a handful of Coalgirls's releases (720p) are not being processed as they are over the limit.
[Whatever the script considers to be a 'batch', over 1.5GB in size]

Ooh, Bayfiles has a nice API - I like.
Might give it a try - thanks :)

I do wonder about their premium page, which mentions benefits such as no wait times - but their free service doesn't appear to have any either :/

One of the sub groups I follow started using http://bayfiles.com and for me it's like MU only better.
And reading a news post about the current filehost situation a user posted http://www.peeje.com/remote which has multi-file uploading.

I won't be using MirrorCreator due to their restrictions, but I'm uploading to MediaFire separately as it is now, as they're the only host with a 200MB file limit.

@admin: I highly suggest using EmbedUpload and/or MirrorCreator, they are the only multiuploading sites I know of that have MediaFire as an option.

Thanks for all the file host suggestions! I'll be looking through them when I get free time.
I'm going to prefer multi-host uploaders as they'll consume less server bandwidth. Do note that once I pick one or more hosts, I'll have to code up an upload script, then let it go through a testing period, all of which may take some time.

Thanks for the heads up Jay.
We'll keep the links there just in the rare case they restore their services. Uploads to them disabled.

I wanna inquire if it's possible to add Bayfiles to the script? it's really the best out there now. no capthca, no wait time, no size limit, great speed.
Thanks in advance.

Filesonic just disabled their services. you can only download your own files now. Might aswell remove them from the script.

Have you tried maybe using UploadMirrors?

Unfortunately MirrorCreator has its own limits (bans you after uploading a certain amount).
I might just stick to EmbedUpload+Mediafire for now and ditch Multiupload until they stabilise.

Thanks for the suggestions :)

I suggest using http://www.mirrorcreator.com/ if multiupload can't handle the uploading. Max file size is 500mb.

yea, I suggest that too, mainly embedupload since it has all the sites there

Forget multiupload.its dying and cant cope with the demand .Stick with embedupload, mediafire, crocko, and lesser know hosts .After megauploads demise popular sites are getting crippled with the extra uploads and cant function as well so its best to use smaller sites for a few months till it stabilizes  .

That's a likely explanation.
It seems it's not getting much success so far :( Unfortunately the script is somewhat quite tied to Multiupload...
Am thinking about what I can do - maybe I'll enable more hosts in EmbedUpload and skip the main hosts for now? Unfortunately, that still leaves a huge queue of files to be processed...

I believe is the shift of uploaders from Megaupload to Multiupload that causes the surge in traffic for Multiupload which results in the unstable service.

This site relies mainly on Multiupload to provide most of the mirrors. It seems that Multiupload is having unstable service at the moment, for whatever reason, so the script is having difficulties putting up links.

From memory, if there's no delays, errors or queuing (and ignoring Mediafire's verification time), directly sending data to Mediafire is around 200KB/s, so around 13-15 minutes.
Of course, actual times will almost always be longer than that.

@Admin: Do you know how long it takes for you to usually upload a 150 MB or 175 MB file to MediaFire?

I'm not being impatient or anything, just curious about the whole uploading process...

Ralph ,thats a load of crap.Megauploads servers have been seized and there will be no new MU ,maybe some cheap imitation that wants peoples money. But not by the guys behind MU who are going to be charged with fraud and face years in jail if (or when) there charged. Also thanks for this site Admin ,after loosing the account which i just renewed on MU i am relying on free download hosts till i decide whether to get an account from another site and its been a big help.
