Thanks for the suggestions. The script should be able to select the hosts on MultiUp, but it might be broken now. I don't particularly like the idea of uploading twice, as it's like trying to get around limits they've imposed.
Because its old news from the net? But yeah, we do discuss that for nearly 6 days now and well ... no one did link https://blog.zippyshare.com/ , thats true, but I guess all did visit zippy or other sources and read for themselves.
Zippyshare Announcement Information about the closure of the project March 19, 2023 Hey Folks,
We’ve decided that we’re shutting down the project at the end of the month. Please make backups of your important files, you have about two weeks to do so. Until then, the site will run without any changes.
There are several reasons for the closure:
– Since 2006 we have been on the market in an unchanged form, that is, as ad financed/free file hosting. However, you have been visiting in less and less over the years, as the arguably very simple formula of the services we offer is slowly running out of steam. I guess all the competing file storage service companies on the market look better, offer better performance and more features. No one needs a dinosaur like us anymore.
– All sorts of adblockers, whether built into the browser, as add-ons, or in the form of DNS services. Sure, we all use them, but they take away any control the site owner has over the site. Eventually we get to the point where a vicious cycle begins, in order to pay for the server infrastructure you are forced to place more and more ads, then users fire up more and more adblockers and we get to a point like today.
– Rising electricity prices. Over the past year, electricity prices have gone up 2.5 times, which, with a large number of servers, gives a significant increase in costs that we have no way to balance.
There are still a bunch of smaller reasons, but we could write a book on this, and probably no one would want to read it.
To sum it up, we can no longer afford to maintain the site.
You can send us any comments to (we’ll read them all, we’ll probably respond to just a few): [email protected]
Thanks for being with us over the years. See you in the depths of the Internet. o7

Redundacy maybe? It s trivial to implement. Just an idea to fill the void zippyshare will be leaving. I think the multiup suggestion is better though.

Welp thats sad but if you want that much quality on your chinese cartoons that fast you're gonna have to pay it seems. Top size for a normal episode for me is under 300mb and with hevc/av1 can't really complain there. Thanks for the info on pixeldrain. Might not have happened if there was some load balancing with another host like I sugested.
[SubsPlease] 1080p 1.20GB episode (typical): 1.20GB = 1,200mb Zippy @12mb/sec = 100sec, about 1.5 min per show Anonfiles and many @ 500kb/sec = 2,400sec, about 40 min per show ---------------------------- 12GB torrent: Zippy @12mb/sec, about 15 min Anonfiles and many @ 500kb/sec, about 6hrs 40 min ------------------------------ 24GB torrent: Zippy @12mb/sec, about 30 min Anonfiles and many @ 500kb/sec, about 13 hour
p.s. pixeldrain and others had blocked AT's uploads after a few days/weeks, as I recall.

Same anon, but maybe you can use the spook hosters I mentioned above, there's a lot of them:
Simple api, basically same upload script as anonfiles.Maybe some round robin/randomizer to pick a different host on each file upload. My only concern is them being a frontend for the same backend which animetosho would quickly give the hug of death.
Besides those there's pixeldrain and gofile.io which both have decent speeds and API. But the former was here before after being removed, don't remember why. and the latter is present on Multiup. Speaking of which, maybe upload the file twice to multiup but with different hosts? Is the script even capable of selecting different hosts? I see they're only the default.
I think Zippy shows that there can be no illusion of a working business model anymore so I'm not expecting any hot new finds. I'd be happy to be wrong.
Of the current here right now for me, Kraken: Speeds as good as Zippy, sometimes. Finding those times is the trick. Otherwise, maybe 1-2mb/sec. DownloadGG: Pretty fast but they remove some files quick, presumably for rights. ClickUpload: as you said.
Usenet, for any who don't know, is for those who are willing to use a credit card and don't care about being anonymous. I'm happy to have such folk around for the lawyers to feed on instead of looking for me. I wouldn't recommend anyone give up the protections of being anonymous, but it's their life.
For me, it's 20 hours. I let the last one run for several hours to be sure. I expect it differs based on load, region and maybe how much they hate my type of ad-blocker.
20 min wouldn't be tempting for me either though. I hope it never will be.

That's pretty terrible. I wonder what a good replacement would be, I used to get 1GBit from zippyshare and it worked in parallel, very hassle free, the highest I can get from the rest is maybe clicknupload 1MB/s, while the others are clearly throttling non-paying users. Are there any alternatives that are as good and would fit the site's needs?
Unfortunately, there's currently no filter that can explicitly do that. If you're ambitious, the database exports allow you to do filtering/searches in whatever way you please.
I'm a bit hesitant, due to it being handled by MultiUp, but I'll keep that in mind (I prefer to split files at a certain point to reduce the bandwidth cost if an upload fails or gets rejected).

Hi admin,
It’s been forever since I made a comment (and if I didn’t thank you way back, thanks for adding the year to the Series pages!)
On the Series Updates page (/animes) would it be possible to add some sort of date-time marker?
I use that page the most, but it’s hard to know when you’ve scrolled down into stuff you looked at prior to the reload. It also means I tend to load Older Entries a lot because I can’t tell if I’m still in new additions.

If it’s even doable, whatever makes it easiest on you.
I didnt need to s.t. like that and I am not familiar with the shpinx search options, but try messing around. Well "S0?-E?? av1" didnt really do what's wanted but somewhat that direction probably.
How do I filter for folders. Like I'm looking for av1. But I want to see only multi-file torrents. Not all such batch torrents have batch in their titles. So what search words should I feed in the search box.
I just checked: after one download, it started a 20hr timer saying the download limit has been reached. The one file, btw, was only 300mb and the speed was about 500k/sec, much slower than it used to be.
My problem with 1fichier has been it has only allowed 1 download per hour (or less) for free/anons. If that has changed, great. As it has been, it's been useless here.
I only looked at this one briefly but it seems as though https://1fichier.com/ might be a possible alternative.
You may not want to use it because multiup has it as one of their options, although the benefit of using it directly is they have a very high file size limit, "File size is limited to 300GB. Storage capacity is not limited." I'm not entirely sure if that 300GB file limit applies for guest uploaders though. Also, "Files can be removed after 15 days without downloads for guests," but that seems similar to what ZippyShare offered.
It's very possible there are a lot of redflags/dealbreakers, but I'm not super sure what specific criteria AnimeTosho requires, and I'm not at all versed in web/systems admin.
Fingers crossed that you're right but I wouldn't bet on it. Zippy is one of the few old ones still standing.
My guess is the business model just isn't working anymore. Everyone and their mother is using adblockers, authorities cut donation options, a lot of people prefer streaming and the list goes on.
It's not a vocal group so I doubt a joke. They didn't explain when they shut down service to England and Germany and their last previous blog was 2018. Mostly, I don't see how anyone can not lose money doing ddl these days. Professional media said it's a miracle they last this long.
Please no. I'd rather zippyshare exit on a high note than turn into one of those other ad infested hosts. Probably a better option might have been some combination of donation, bandwidth limit, etc. But then you lose what made zippyshare special. It always felt a bit too good to be true.
Made this comment under most recent episode comments, figured it should actually be here, sorry for the mixup:
If anyone handling AnimeTosho is looking for fresh sites to add to the fetching/posting script(s), I'd suggest checking https://down.mdiaload.com/. Just as quick as Zippyshare for me, no filesize cap meaning less uploads, and files seem to stay available (not sure if it may be different regarding anime). Zippyshare has been great and dependable, they'll be missed for sure... many other sites are gone far quicker.
