The full size images are always uploaded as PNG, but Imgur converts it to JPEG anyway.

skip this one, get next one (on AT homepage now) or patch.  No subs on this one.

It will tell you something about the quality. You can see if the image quality is clear or not (like vhs vs dvd/bd). You can also see bleeding (one color bleeding into another) & banding (cause by incorrect color bit depth if I remeber correctly). Gamma can also be seen (too bright vs too dark). And my fav aspect ratio. You just can't see a true one-to-one image quality and even if you could please remeber these frames are in motion (what does that mean? Well I'm not going to go in to it).

Another thing is we don't know if it's a screenshot or frame extraction and there is a difference between the two.
A sceenshot will be based on your computer display settings were an extraction will be just that, data covered from the movie file (one frame) to a still image file. My guess it's the latter.

Based on past discussions, I believe all the previews used to be png here.  I think imgur may have changed policy on us.
