this is not the right place to cry for their encodes. If you have problem, go to their site! Its already indicated their site!
A-Tosho is just a host just fetching what they can see in nyaa and tokyotosho..either it contains virus or not, horrible encodes or not as long as Eng Sub categories,,Problem? go to the original source!
Stop taking Anime so serious as well and learn to let people have a say without having to start a huge load of arguments & flaming. If somone thinks it's shit ,so what? They're  entitled too.Take the same advice you all keep giving about the links for the comments,if you don't like them the comments ignore them and it will save having childish squabbles and embarrassing yourself .
"Would you describe that useless comments or whiny ?"
Yes I would since the top post DID NOT include what the problems with the mkv were.
"Well this was shit, can't AnimeNOW get anything right? Why doesn't he just quit already?"
He/she did not state any facts at all, so I would conceder that whiney, in fact anyone would.

"It is more just ignorance on your part due lack of knowledge."
No. We all know about AnimeNow and thier encoding. We just go else where to get our stuff, at least I do.

Share the love & get a grip.
Let me add my 2 cents worth so some anonymous person can bash what I think.

In my opinion I think adding entertainment value can be a good thing as long as it doesn’t adversely effect the story and/or the characters personality. The creators had an intent and I don’t think anybody has the right to change that intent. Adding/changing because of culture differences as long as it isn’t changing the intent that the original creators wanted is OK (This includes polishing a translation). Good example of going too far would be Commie with “Girls & Panzer.”

I would also like to see this AnimeNow bashing stop. If you don’t like their encoding just don’t DL it, simple.

Share the love & keep watching.

Well some people like yourself and zooby enjoy anything that is free ,while others do not.It is personal preference and based on having enough video encoding knowledge to be able to spot the issues [which you clearly do not].As for AnimeNOW releases ,just check nyaa comments on his torrents for plenty of examples.Such as re-encoding raws to worse quality, encoding video to the wrong aspect ratio,v2ing 2 minute ovas, poorly editing subtitles to the point that they are ineligible ,verbally attacking people that point out said flaws and more.Would you describe that useless comments or whiny ?.It is more just ignorance on your part due lack of knowledge.

Does this guy just always pretend to be two people, or does he actually have multiple personality disorder?  The world may never care...

It's been a quiet revolution, but gg has changed the world of fansub.  They decided to put a priority on entertainment over literal translations when needed.  And other fansubs have slowly followed that move.  For example, look at utw versus gg on the recent 8th Grader Syndrome anime.  Compare the early episodes where there are some big differences in their versions to the later ones which are more similar.

Navel treaties may need literal translations, but for anime the entertainment argument is irresistible -within some bounds.  The problem now is that it's hard to say what those bounds should be.
CAPS LOCK FOR THE WIN.

zooby is right on target.  And this person who wants less free anime choices for everyone (strange person that you are) please note Admin's minimal guidelines on comments:

"Critical comments are welcome, however note that statements such as "X is crap" or "Y sucks" are NOT criticisms and aren't useful to anyone. Please back such statements up with reasoning to be both informative and demonstrate that you aren't just some whiney kid."

Got that, whiney kid?  And Admin DOES own this site.

Hey, I don't appreciate you adding gg to the "suck" group. They are the reason why Baka-Test was funny. Sure, they had some over the top lines in it, but if they didn't subbed it we would only be getting dull subs from Mochi.
Do you own this site zooby and are adding posting rules ?.Last time i checked the FAQ anyone could post what they liked without being bossed around .
Don't like his encoding, then don't get his encodes. Some haters also want to get groups to stop subbing because they "suck". Commie, GG, and Hadena keep going though. You'd have more success at attempting to hurt the guy's feelings by emailing him directly or posting directly on his site rather than a site that just provides DDLs.

Then again, it would be more beneficial to you to just ignore "crap" encodes and just go about your daily routine. Unless of course, it's part of your life to put down a person/groups efforts. Whatever floats your boat.
Agreed,he is horrible at encoding .He should have realised that he's not doing a good job by now and quit.
Don't like it? Don't get it.
Well this was shit, can't AnimeNOW get anything right? Why doesn't he just quit already?

Here's a qoute from collectr's post regarding the colored subs.

"The colored subtitles have been retained, mostly because the team thought of going over to a more modern scheme of Main, Overlap, Thought, Flashback too late in the process. They lend a distinctly 2007 feel to the result."

Comment was to long so this is what you're getting.
It feels like it took me longer to copy all the links/paste 'em then it did to upload it. Maybe because it required more work.

just torrented this, it is similar to polished, but fixes the abysmal grammar and and several mistranslations, but still uses coloured subs to retain that '2007 feel', it also fixes timing errors and looks to be the best option
but this v2 still not included for the ED and OP song from the attachment
someone can u share "Gnuolane Rg” and “Bodoni Std" font for OP and ED romanji

Thanks.  That was all very interesting.  We seem lately to have tech software advancements like h265 that run counter to current hardware trends: fast transmission, cheap storage, and if tablets are the future, lower cpu power.  Stuff like h265 either addresses yesterday's old problems or those of a more distant future.

Of course, with optimized code and/or dedicated hardware things could change.

Here's a riddle for those who like riddles: Hi10P is about 20% more efficient than 8-bit encoding, yet the average Hi10P BD encode is now about 20% bigger than back in the 8-bit days.  -I guess it's more just ironic.
I think I was wrong about frame rate.
By the way - this video has 30fps.
And I didn't notice any banding or blockiness artifacts.

As far as who the best was prior to this, polished would be group with Ayako since they didn't do any changes to the subs. Mendoi might have been the best for this series had they not dropped it 3 episodes in, but I can't confirm this since I haven't seen nor do I wan't to scour all over the place to find it.
>>Which cpu?
AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core 5000+ .

>>Any lag?
Small lags at anime opening scene.  Some problems with subtitles.

>>The video and audio quality:
I can't say it because GPAC's Osmo4 player don't have enough settings. And my hardware is really bad now.

>>Was it similar to a normal 100MB, 200MB, or 300MB encode?
I think it was better than 100MB encode.

"Warning: has no keyframes, seeking may be slow."  It didn't work at all for me. To skip 40 sec I waited 40 seconds, staring at black screen of player. (I think it is because of  slow CPU.)

Overall: I have enough internet speed to download normal 350-500 MB series. I shall not watch h265 video with  high CPU demands. Because I want to use SVP for video.

not the first poster but I would defiantly like a good copy of this show, never bothered downloading before since there were no good releases available (best was some polished subs that were awful to start with)
Tibb you are the hear none of us deserve, thanks so much
Here's the link for the patch they posted on Nyaa:

Which cpu?  Any lag?  The video and audio quality: Was it similar to a normal 100MB, 200MB, or 300MB encode?  Banding or blockiness artifacts?  Good audio dynamics?

Overall: Thumbs up or thumbs down?
i need the patch only.....
