I just downloaded it from PeejeShare with Firefox.  By any chance, would you have disabled java or javascript?  Some security add-ons (like NoScript) disable J or JS.  Otherwise, you could try again.  Maybe Peeje had  a problem.

Jdownloader has a bit of a learning curve.  If all you want to to join files, get 7zip, the free Windows zip utility.

Opps.  One more piece of bad news: I believe at the time I was using VLC, and they never got it right -chapters, I mean.  I don't know if VLC even now handles chapters properly.  So you might want to try another video player as well.  A common choice in anime land is at http://www.cccp-project.net/ (what's with all these embarrassing names?!)

At least lots of people can help if you have trouble with that program.

I've heard something similar to what you're describing before somewhere.  If I remember, I'll update this note.  In the meantime, my first impulse would be to re-download.  

I remember now: It was Derp-Subs version of Legend of the Legendary Heroes, ep5.  It turned out to be a change in how mkvmerge (a standard tool for fansubs) handled information about chapters in a mkv file.  The end solution was that users had to update their video players to handle the new chapters specifications.  So either the file you downloaded was corrupted (physically, not morally), or you need to update your software.  If this is the only program giving you troubles, I would guess it was a corruption in download problem.  Otherwise, go to the VLC website and download their latest stable version.  As I mentioned, this episode played fine for me.  I was either using KMP or my new ultra-favorite with the horrible name, Pot-Player-64-bit version.

The video was choppy and kept rewinding itself.
Like, it plaid normally for few seconds, and then shows the part you saw 0.5 seconds ago again.
The subtitles kept disappearing and reappearing rapidly.
The audio was okay, I think.

I tried playing it with WMP (I've added some codecs to it so I can play .mkv).
I also tried playing it with VLC, same thing.

It played fine on my system.  But as of this moment I don't see any download links.  Is your source reliable?  If it played poorly, describe how and using what video player and renderer.

All of the Hadena episodes are uncensored and from the same video source, AT-X.  I just checked and found the AT-X station watermark on eps 2 and 3 as well as 1, 4, 5 and 6.  The file name irregularity is probably because they reported having a lot of staff out sick or away for a couple of weeks back then.

Of the other two groups offering this show, SubDesu is also using the uncensored AT-X version, even though they don't say anything in their file names, but they have been complaining about the video quality of what they've been able access most weeks (already compressed with data loss, according to someone else's preferences.)

Lastly, Commie has started offering the censored version broadcast by Tokyo-MX, probably because they already had a source for this station.

As a general rule, if you find the AT-X station watermark in a show (typically shown soon after the opening credits), it is uncensored or it is the most uncensored version of that show available by broadcast.  Sometimes the only completely uncensored version of a show is the blue-ray disc version which comes out later.  (Some shows fake censor themselves to boost BD sales.)  By the way, censorship in Japanese anime has always meant masking something, not cutting out scenes.  So you don't miss out on a thing, plot-wise.  Personally, I like to have a censored and uncensored version of shows I like.

This is a gem that I thought no one would ever pick up and sub after only a few episodes were subbed some years ago.  The way things are, miss this now and you'll never get another chance.

Magic-girl genre: A girl saves a pig.  Turns out the pig is really an alien.  In gratitude, the pig gives the girl an alien device that gives her super-powers!  But the device is in the form of a pig snout, and it turns her into a super-pig whenever she puts the pig snout on.  She's not too thrilled about this whole business...
