1. The whole homeless situation I described was an example, of course there'd be far better ways to help a homeless person than by donating money that'd end up spent in no time and in terrible ways. The point was just to say that faced with a problem, it's best to face it rather than turn a blind eye.

2. The harrassment you're talking about is from my "young encoder" days when i tried myself at fansubs and got hated for it, then I changed tag, uploaded for a good year or two until someone said "Oh, it's HIM", and all the Nyaanons arrived in masses to hate on me for stuff I did in 2022, yay. There's no ounce of "constructive", only "criticism" and based on nothing.

I do believe/know there's some honest people out there though, and I believe that if they thought my encodes sucked, they would've given some kind of feedback.

Completely correct. You do not need to give a few $ to the homeless on the street as it just incentivises them and deters them from trying to solve their issues. Buy them food - yes. Give them money? Hell no. Chances are they will not spend it on food but on some unnecessary luxury.
This is a prime example of people looking at the ressult and trying to mitigate it instead of focusing on the problem. The ressult is that they became homeless. Their was a cause for why they became homeless. That is the problem. Unless you find out why they bcame homeless you will never solve the problem. Giving them money just mitigates the ressult. You provide them what they want removing any incentive for them to try in solve their own problems. They can get money - spend it on whatever luxury goods they need and continue to beg for more. Laugh, save the original ones for private use and move on? This is the internet. Scrolling takes next to no effort. If you want constructive feedback you will find it with a bit more scrolling. You do not need to read pointless comments.

The thing is both parties are here. And engagement can only be fueled by both. If you don't get a response you usually move on to harass other people... Now if you response to trash talk and trash talk them back they will get persistent obviously. But that is your own fault. Asking mods to solve your own personal inability to ignore a trash comment is your own fault and no 1 can fix it. If you think your right when responding to trash comments you only feed the trolls. Usually they undersand that they are trolling and dont mean anything that is being said but they do get enjoyment out of seing your responses.

Well usually they only get persistent if they get attention. If no one respons and fuels the flame wars they usually go away. Maybe pop some IP bans on commenting but those are usually just another form of attention - how fast can I get banned.

I am not sure if this is already an option somewhere. But is there a possible to only show the first torrent per episode? I'd like to set a few filters for a series and only the fastest torrent per episode gets shown/downloaded by rss.

"No moderation" is a little extreme, in my book - I think most would agree that some degree is warranted, to at least remove spam and whatnot.
I personally think comments should at least have some degree of value to people who decide to read them. A page full of insults is likely not useful to most readers.

Having said that, I'm fairly light on moderation, so I'd align with your suggestion more closely than most others.

Thank you for this great site! Solved most of my sonarr issues! Love the quck queries and and grouping by series! Alternatives like Nyaa tend to be down due to some EU/Baltics routing issue and other sites like to slow everything down with flare or other crap. Hope you will not be forced to use it!

Where do you even find toxic users here? Commenting on torrents? Like who in their right mind would actually spend time writing a comment on a public trackers torrent unless there is an actual problem with the release in qustion? Who in their righter mind would bother reading pointless comments as well? Or am I missing a part of this site somehow? You should be glad someone commented instead of trying to restrict it. My personal 2 cents on this is keep it open. No moderation needed. Engagement is engagement. It is every ones choice to read or not read comments. They do not play anny part with the baseline function of this site. If the traffic gets to high (bots etc) then limits are needed. People who read or post comments are either those that want to be helpful or engage in w/e pointless discussion they find. Perhaps the best choise is to allow members to hide annonymous comments if they are bothered by them like OP here. To every one else they are just another form of engagement. You always have the choice to turn off you PC and go outside.
