I don't know for how long it'll remain online after that (I'll likely monitor traffic and base my decision off that), but I'll likely close all user contributions at some point, then release a stripped copy of the website's database for preservationists.

You are an inspiration and touched the lives of millions of people with this project. It pains me that it's going away but I know better than trying to change your mind. I can only wonder what's going on in the background that pushed you to this decision.
Please release as much of the components as you possibly can, this is more than a website, it's a piece of history and a beacon of what the internet should be.
Also, if I could ask a selfish request, please export the feedback and torrent comments too. While basic, it's still a time capsule of the community built around here and would hate that to be lost.
