> They won't do shit about piracy sites unless they get an Ontario court order

That's not how things works any more. Yesterday SCOTUS granted wide immunity to POTUS, so he can even nuke anybody for any reason or just for fun and won't be held to account until another superpower (China PRC?) grows strong enough to keelhaul POTUS to the ICJ in the Hague. That's still decades in the future as USA is the global hegemon, so Canada needs to watch out more!
Also, as Hollywood invests ever more into anime, otaku piracy starts to hurt the pockets of those whom Mel Gibson despises and that tribe is very powerful politically and financially. A few years down the line anime pirates will likely be hunted by m0ssa6.
got nuked because of CASM uploads.

onion url also works (need TOR browser): rozvtgjhfwfrf4xbbhqevgwia6ut3twhcv3kxspqnklekojyoskcfryd.onion

So you dont need to worry about acting surprised, it will take days ;-) (except they transfer it manually)

Did they give you an explanation why it has been suspended?

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll keep that in mind for next time.
After a bunch of painful back-and-forth with the current registrar, I think I've managed to initiate a transfer; current issue (amongst several others) is that their approval system is broken.

SeƱor Tosho Man, the community misses you, there's been discussion about the whole DNS issues in other communities, I'm here to relay message
"
Seems like they were using Subreg (aka Gransy / Regtons)
In general they're a decent non-US DMCA ignored domain registrar, but sometimes they do fuck up royally, like with ExtraTorrent and archive.today
easyDNS is the best option for .org registration
They won't do shit about piracy sites unless they get an Ontario court order
I assume someone here knows the AnimeTosho operator, so feel free to pass on the easyDNS recommendation to him

i had to edit host to enter here so its problem due to register i see i suppose this will take a while.
whois says:

Domain Status: inactive https://icann.org/epp#inactive

works if you put this in your /etc/hosts :

107.189.29.30  animetosho.torrentbay.st
195.154.243.59 storage.animetosho.torrentbay.st
195.154.243.59 feed.animetosho.torrentbay.st
what's up with the website's DNS being down?
not sure if anyone else has noticed this but season 2 of this batch is of normal Naruto, not Naruto Shippuden.

Unfortunately the registrar suspended the domain and deleted the management account.
Dealing with them is frustrating, though they are at least (somewhat) cooperating with a transfer.
I wouldn't be surprised if this takes days to resolve.

Looks like the domain is not currently delegated.

> Currently the only way access the site due to a hosts entry.
Another option is to add master dns server of animetosho.torrentbay.st (ns.gransy.com) to your dns server config, in case of dnsmasq the line should look like:
server=/animetosho.torrentbay.st/95.179.136.180

This will work for subdomains too.

02/07/2024 15:06 — Anonymous: "DNS Issues?"
Hi Admin,

there seem to be DNS issues with the animetosho.torrentbay.st domain.
For "animetosho.torrentbay.st" i only get an empty reply, and for any subdomains (ex: storage.animetosho.torrentbay.st) I get non-existant domain responses.
Tried from multiple source IPs of different ISPs and querying multiple external DNS servers, so I'm quite sure thats not a me problem.

Currently the only way access the site due to a hosts entry.

02/07/2024 01:04 — Anonymous: "Recent NSFW releases"
AniDex seem to have been bombarded with some nsfw releases which got detected by your system. You, Admin, probably want to delete them.
Yes it does, it's the second Japanese track. When I went to check out the audio there are 2 Japanese tracks.
One has no audio, the other one has full audio. It's not intuitive to find, but it WAS included.
I understand, but I compared this and
https://animetosho.torrentbay.st/view/judas-kime...p.n1840036

I didn't see that much of a difference on my 13" laptop. So between the mini-encoders whoever puts out a release will be welcome in my eyes, and space saving above all else!
The fact that at one point judas' encoders were able to beat unfiltered copy-paste settings encodes just shows how far they've fallen
Seems the obvious point flew over your head if you felt it required pointing out the obvious.
Unless you are watching on a large screen 40"+ you won't really see much difference in the mini encodes. Most that come here are watching on their phone or a laptop. Especially with those that watch on their phone file size matters and a lot of people don't have a lot of storage space on their laptop. They are the type that watch once, maybe twice and delete. Those that want to archive usually go for the larger files.
Thanks for all the comparisons!
I guess I'm not super picky because unless I put my face to the screen I can't really tell the difference between a lot of these pictures. So, I'm very happy with the amount of options we have!
DKB, DB, Ember, ASW (I didn't see Judas on here but I'm sure it would be similar), AV1, and obviously the sources are great, so whoever has the best size and is most complete will be fine -- at least for me.
Best would be to watch the original, I was just giving an alternative that is "less" in size, but sufficient in "quality" ^^"
I can't recommend any of the minis tbh so yeah, Erai has my preference even if it's not perfect in any way :x
Erai uses a destructive sharpening filter with default x265 settings on their encodes, which is far from ideal https://slow.pics/c/tcn0111k
What a horrible opening theme song
Mini-encodes are automated because they don't care about quality, they care about speed/size.

1st time watching : Go for the maximum quality (original rip by Erai/Subsplease & co, or a quality-oriented encode a few hours later).
2nd time watching and more (saved on local storage) : Go for mini-encodes for storage capacity purposes.

At least give yourself the chance to enjoy the anime you're watching at full quality once so the experience is at its best.

As for sources, I'd go for Erai-Raws's HEVC encode, they've got a good balance between quality and size (not too screwed, but not too big).
But make your own preferences, try a few and see what you enjoy most.
They can't get the attachments without downloading the actual files... Get real.
I have no idea as I don't download files with dOpus as an audio file.
What's wrong with the font size? It's small on MPC
If you need attachments, I think the MiniMTBB uses the same attachments. You can grab them here https://animetosho.torrentbay.st/search?q=minimtbb shingeki
I know the files are big. But can you just fetch for attachments purposes, if possible?
So who is left that you can (generally) rely on? Is anyone left that is not automated and decent quality?
Rent a seedbox would be better for you.
There were other mini groups that filtered before Judas and they didn't use handbrake, I should know because I was one of them.
Ember's biggest problem isn't even to do with their video quality... It's like there's never a human involved with the releases because it's always so sloppy and releases often have muxing issues and they never get fixed.

Just recently they encoded Heron via an HDR source but they encoded it to SDR without tonemapping and have not bothered to correct or even acknowledge the issues. Other times it's very often confirmed they forgot to mux fonts, incorrectly tag tracks which break automation of language settings, and things like Demon Slayer where they're confused about what season they're even doing.

Most of these are simple things that a quick glance by a human could catch and correct, but they're seemingly disinterested.
Judas use to be the only mini-encode group that filtered. Most others used to all be handbrake automation. So while Judas has became just another automated group and lost what made them one of the best mini groups at one point often times beating non-minis like iAHD, moozzi2, lowpower, Reinforce, etc... that simply isn't the case now. But to pretend there was never a time things were different is false.
Exactly, the file size is way to big for the very small amount of people that need DDL.
They should get a cheap VPN or a cheap seedbox.
Judas was never special. All I said Judas was a little bit better in terms of encoding minis. But seriously consider getting your eyes checked if you think EMBER encodes are fine.
