Now for a brief summary of Dragon Ball:

Dragon Ball is great because it does have some flaws. The scripting and music for the series are very basic and unrefined, and the action sequences are extremely long and cartoony. The art of Goku and the Dragon Balls is also simplistic and derivative, and the series is riddled with inconsistent character designs that make the characters look older than they are.

The first Dragon Ball anime, Dragon Ball GT, is considered one of the worst adaptations of all time because it heavily edits out important scenes and changes the timing of events that happen in the manga, drastically changing the tone of the series and significantly changing the dynamics of the characters. A plot twist was deleted from the final version that would have caused Tien Shinhan to crash his fighter jet, and several scenes involving blood and humor problems were removed. Michael Dante DiMartino, who did the subtitling for the Funimation release, admitted that he did not know what to do with the censored scenes and overindulgence in alcohol, so he deleted them both from the uncut versions. However, he kept the subtitling intact for the Japanese version, due to the positive response to the subtitling distribution of the series with Funimation.

The censored specials include “Cha-La Head-Cha-La” (??? ???), which were produced uncut and exhibited at Mutation! Exorcist in the 1990s. The first two specials are censored to black and white, respectively. “Dragon Ball: Origins” (??? ??? ???) is censored to white and black, with the last panel of the uncut footage color-coded as “Don’t Call It A Birthday” (??? ??? ???) to better differentiate it from the previous specials. Later uncut specials include “Dragon Ball Z: Battle Of Gods” (??? ???Z ???) and “Dragon Ball Z: Roshi’s Anger” (??? ???Z ???); both feature much blood and violence, the former being much more violent than the latter. Both the Japanese and international versions of these specials feature additional scenes and content removal, some of which is censored out entirely.

Dragon Ball Z (???Z (???)) was the first animated Dragon Ball series to earn an English dub, the first outside North America. It was produced by Z.A. Levin of New York, New York, although he had previous experience voicing characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog and Dragon Ball franchises; such as the original Dragon Ball, the original Dragon Ball Z, and the Dragon Ball Z (1995) anime. It premiered in the United States on September 26, 1989, at midnight on the Nielsen VideoScan network, performing better

In 1994’s English dub, the characters’ distinctive deaths were replaced with a brief clip of Goku screaming at the top of his lungs before his heart stops and Krillin and the others run away. The scene was also removed altogether from the Japanese version, as fans were more used to Krillin’s death from Shenlong’s Cutie mark gaining in popularity. Later English dubs have retained the earlier edits, but drop the screaming scene entirely. In the Japanese version, Gohan’s reflection in the Dragon Balls mirrors Goku’s suicide attempt, with the audience’s reaction to the scenes ultimately determining the dub.

The dialogue cuts from the original Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 transformations were removed entirely from the Japanese version, with most fansarchers complaining about the censorship. The transformation from Super Saiyan to Saiyan 2 was censored to a much more comedic tone, likely in response to the lighter tone of the anime. A poster for the Funimation/Ocean dub, released in Japan in 1995, seen above, shares a name with this poster and the Funimation/Saban dub of Dragon Ball Z, and was created to promote the dub.

The Kai trailer featuring Goku’s transformation was deleted from before its uncut release due to trademark issues, although it was re-edited for release in Japan. A fan film based on the cut was created alongside the cuts, and was released uncut in the United States and Europe in 2000. A second uncut trailer featuring Goku’s transformation was created in 2013 for the Japanese DVD release, but it lacks the edits and additional scenes removed for the Japanese release. Many other trailers featuring Goku’s transformations exist, some of which exist solely for his promotional tour, and others for his video games and movies.

A fan film focused on the Kai English dub, Goku’s Father, Funimation’s Tony Zulli, created in 1998 called Dragon Ball Z Dad’s Army, premiered at the Funimation/Saban Anime Festival in Los Angeles on April 8, 2001. It contains many of the same scenes that appear in the Funimation cut, but with a different background and different music.

A 2015 documentary titled Dragon Ball: The Cinema of Mirrors, which premiered on the History Channel, examines the distribution

During this time a mysterious figure called Cell emerges and takes out both Goku and Tien before escaping to a spaceship made up of his disciples and passengers. After absorbing two of the planet’s largest cities, Kid Buu and Mansion 19, for his private use Cell creates a massive arena in which to train his followers into warrior-kings (???). After absorbing the other planets inhabitants, Cell grows into a monstrous and arrogant tyrant before destroying them all in a massive explosion that leaves him no survivors.

It’s a shame that one of the more interesting aspects of Dragon Ball is the humor. The series balances seriousness and silliness quite well, though it definitely has its dark moments. The series also has a strong sense of humor and references to classic American culture from television, movies and music all come through in the show. Dragon Ball has a very catchy and memorable title song, as well as an iconic image of the Dragon Balls, which has become a very popular theme throughout the franchise.

The subtler edits also resulted in more subtle humor throughout the series, with Goku’s lengthy explanation of the Kamehameha finisher and the humorous timing of the karaoke lines from Dragon Ball Z leading to some of the funnier scenes. Part of the humor in the show comes from the characters’ exaggeratedly exaggerated facial expressions and exaggeratedly small waists, which makes them look ridiculous as they speak. The show frequently references other media, such as American cartoons, with characters including Fortuneteller Beerus in Dragon Ball Z, discussing the merits of watching American cartoons over Japanese ones, and Dr. Slump in Ghostbusters all referencing American cartoons.

The show’s tagline for Japan is most likely a play on the phrase “sad as can be” (ともころはいます), which can be translated as “not great” or “fallen down.” The sense of humor in the show is reflected through the use of puns and humor descriptions, which is evident when the characters use the N-word, which is shown as a play on words from N-word. The title is a play on the N-word as used in the U.S. The Dragon Ball Z overtones are also evident in the characters’ names, which are all variations of the same character.

Although the series is set in Japan, the majority of the characters are English-speaking, as are most of the locations. The majority of the cast is made up of voice actors from the English dub of the previous Dragon Ball anime, with Japanese voices casted by other cast members. J. Michael Straczynski, who plays Goku, was the first to recast the character in the United States. The English voice of Krillin from Dragon Ball Z also provided the voice of Krillin’s son, Krillin the Asian. The character Psylocke was also a character from the anime, having been created by Inti Creates to play against Goku’s voice in the Funimation/Ocean American release.

The storyline of Dragon Ball Z is very unusual in that it follows the exploits of Goku since birth. A scientist by profession, Dr. Kishimoto wanted Goku to have good physiques so he could create an inferior form of evolution through which to test his theories on evolution. This is reflected in the characters’ clothing and the language they use. The scientist’s assistant, Yashiro, suggests the character’s voice actor be Masatoshi Ono, after hearing his work as the main character Goku in the television anime Dragon Ball Z. The scientist’s male counterpart, Dr. Kamehameha, is voiced by Masaaya Hashimoto.

The first episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai is extremely violent and graphic, mostly involving blood and dismemberment. It is heavily implied that Goku’s parents were murdered, with the blood spatter being another sign that indicates their deaths were premeditated. A secks scene involving a resurrected Bulma and Kame-senpai is good.

May Kami have mercy on your soul.

@GojiitaAF

We have no interested in other language releases/content besides Japanese and English unless they have special value visually or audibly like the french dvds, the italian Z bluray movies, the Korean Z audio are good examples of fitting that special exception criteria.

Original Broadcast audio (not video), eng and jpn vhs captures would be the only thing we would pick up from what you mentioned. So its alot smaller than 10TB.

There are a ton of other dubs out there that are available like Hindi and Portuguese etc that we dont have because we (mostly I) dont find them valuable enough to archive. But I encourage anyone who finds them valuable to archive them. But if one of our team members were to extract all the audio and upload them to the time capsule I would welcome them but I would never actively try and archive them myself.

This is only a part of what we have.

17 TB??? I don’t think all devices I have combined have enough space to hold all this

SceneDeity

damn man, am about to cry, seriously billion of thanks.

qtpi

This has blown my mind. Thank you! I don’t know if I have the space for all of it though but I really want it.
Maybe it would be good to separate it into different torrents for each language?

Astral

… Nice.

Lucio54

Need to add portuguese.

Trap_Bugsy

arvon2

If you gathered every single flash drive from Detroit, you still wouldn’t have enough storage for this.

xell17

That’s way too big, Senpai.

SaotomeZ

Thank you. Be careful with jasonspidey, that person’s trash and scourge is able to lie that a friend died just to get his things.
That guy thinks he is very important just because he has all the Japanese HDTV that Yuuki chan gave him.
Don’t waste your time asking that guy for things.

Someone who loves Dragon Ball and wanted to share it retard.
Legit just download the parts you want it’s not that hard to click 3 buttons mong.

Computron

Or you could just make individual torrents for each language?

There is no reason for this torrent to be this large.

Camimaou

Thank you for this huge release! That’s some really great work.

As for people complaining about the size of the torrent… Are you dumb, lol?
Just download the part you want. It doesn’t change anything.
Edit: There’s no more reason to do fifty torrents than a large one.

Permidion

@Scoped I think you misunderstand:
wanting to preserve files is not a bad idea,
creating a 17Tb torrent is a bad idea,
is it clearer ?
such a huge torrent is not sharing sustainable on the long term.
nobody is going to seed it after they have finished downloading it (or part of it), beside the original uploader, who will quite likely disappear after a few month and then it will just be a dead torrent that nobody will touch even with 10 foot pole

_Somebody_

@Permidion Why do you think this is a bad idea?
FYI, you can select the files you want to have, so it’s more efficient to combine all the files in a single torrent.

blaHbluBB

thank you very very much for this torrent <3
i will be grabbing the Japanese ones :)

Permidion

I see a lot of people here saying how great a 17Tb torrent is, and im pretty sure you have never posted and seeded a torrent for an extended period of time in your life

clutchins

@Permidion

Literally! You at least know what you’re talking about with 6 pages of previously uploaded torrents lol

nabiru3

I have like 200GB free in my space, what can I get with it ?

GojiitaAF

everyting here is from Nyaa and 80% from AsianDVDclub.org (now dead) . You are missing almost 10 TB (audio, Original Broadcast, VHS rec etc) which in time will eventually be (or have been) uploaded here. :)

Hate to be the one to tell you, but 12-year-old boys don’t seed.

ronin559

Dang, this is beautiful. LOL, it’s only fitting to have the largest torrent on Nyaa have the largest description as well, even if it’s mostly nonsense.

PavleV

@420666969 what does that have to do with the description lol

wolfness

Hello, has anyone been able to download anything? I’ve been at zero percent for hours.

The point of this torrent is to get more people contributing to the Time Capsule you see. The Time Capsule is meant to preserve every Dragon Ball home release or broadcast, or just valuable stuff and stuff worth preserving when it comes to DB related stuff. The end goal of the Time Capsule (or just TC for short) is that is going to be publicly available rare stuff that was really hard to find.

The Time Capsule has gotten their stuff from multiple things, torrent sites and people who contributed, myself included, i shared the DBZ Journey DVD ISO and the first 3 saga’s of the Madman DVDs (Saiyan, Namek and Ginyu Sagas).

If you share all your rare stuff, you get all your rare stuff with all of this, pretty simple. You share stuff with them, they give stuff to you, none of this “I give you one thing and i get everything” nonsense, people are tired of this runaway stuff with Nyaa among other torrent sites, hence why the Discord rules are so strict, to not replicate the same stuff going on with Nyaa.

You know what’s worth giving to have access? Stuff like Dragon Ball Broadcast footage/audio, DBZ Cartoon Network Rips (that aren’t included in the TC already for both), etc. Stuff like that. Rare stuff that people don’t have publicly access to, which makes the Time Capsule being public EXTRA satisfying and gives the Time Capsule extra value, thus giving you more reasons to seed for the upcoming REAL torrent you know, this is just so that people can make this grow.
