How does Tap24 compare to Coalgirls & Commie base subs that were used in this release?

I think Tap24’s release was better compared to the two

tap24 was based on commie typesetting (except for the OPEDs, which use cgi’s kfx and horrible TL for them) and cgi translation. both coalgirl’s and commie’s TL were based on the CR subs (except for one episode commie did that had an OTL i think?), because nise was one of the few monogatari shows with a good official TL. the main difference is the terminology (cgi: aberration, commie: oddity) and the puns are kinda fucked in cgi’s version. tap24 also did some new typesetting for it i think. it’s the version i watched most recently, referring to commie to occasionally check differences in TL. it has the best BD Nise TS imo.

@ap1234 This is insightful. Disregarding OP/ED tl quality, would you say Tap24 and this release’s commie track are about equal?

subwise, yes. the tl scripts are like 90% the same. if the script bothers you it probably wouldn’t take much effort to edit it back to commie anyway.
