Here’s batch 2 of the least popular Toriyama adaptation ever! I’d be curious to hear why people don’t care for this one. I’m not sure if the comedic timing is off or if I’m just tired of these gags after seeing them for 20 years.

  1. It stomps all over Slump manga canon by updating storylines and jokes for a post-Dragon Ball audience.
  2. The art is terrible.
  3. It has a spastic fast pace that is overall annoying.
  4. As a testing ground for computer-assisted animation, it is filled with awful CGI.
  5. The characters have been changed to be more mean-spirited for no good reason.
  6. A lot of the overt 80’s pop culture references were altered or exterminated in tune to the age’s new copyright law.
  7. It ends before all of the manga events are adapted, leaving it incomplete.

UPDATE: I’m going to wait until the complete series is ready for the next release. The video is encoded, so probably about a month to sync the subs.
