@XxUnkn0wnxX sorry to say, but if even VLC can handle it, I’m not sure what mysterious player you’re using… As mentioned, MPV is the recommended option.

It’s due to hardware acceleration; my old 10+ year old system cannot handle it. VLC: software decode works, but the subtitle fires off like a whole second late due to the lag. If you’re not sure what Plex is, it’s a self-hosted media server, like hosting your own personal Netflix library: https://www.plex.tv/ And yes, even plain old MPV struggles with lag on my old system. I’m forced to use a much older build, as I cannot run/compile the current releases. |

@XxUnkn0wnxX Yes, I’m familiar with Plex—and I even tested it on my own Plex server, which is running on a decade-old i5-3550. It handled things just fine with both VLC and MPV. So, unless your setup is from the Stone Age, maybe plain SRT would be the safer bet. |
