Admin can you please add this [Underwater] Hanasaku Iroha - 20-26 (TV 720p)? Because it is over 1.5Gb and it's not captured by the system.
Yo, just curious—what's more stressing for the automatic system we have here: a 9 GB single file torrent (https://animetosho.torrentbay.st/view/472932) or a torrent that contains 24 files (total is still 9GB), 375 MB each?
Take your time and tell us when you are ready
BTW: my name is rabe3ab, not rabe3ad

Instead of requesting like this, u can just submit the torrent to Tokyo Tosho and it will be processed automatically.
Hi Will it be possible to upload - [Shin-Getter]Gun_Parade_Orchestra_-_01[596B3C55].avi - 176.53 MiB ?
Thanks a lot for the offer rabe3ad :)
Actually, I've considered that - the main thing is that there's actually no way for users to categorise things at the moment - I need to code up an interface for that. But perhaps even worse, is that the current data model doesn't quite allow everything at the moment, so I'll need to look at that as well (then code up the interfaces for the extra display modes).
I'll have a look at it more when I get more time and finish some more important stuff :P
Thanks again for the suggestion guys!

you can rely on some (honest) users to help you classifying the releases.
So they take the newly uploaded files and take them to their right place and do the same thing with old files.
I can help with this procedure and many members will help

I'm sure you can keep at least a certain level of organisation with the current system. Also some people might be like me and like to browse all of the anime on websites like these and remember old anime/new anime/anime they wanted to watch, which is another positive aspect of an organised interface.
PS: Thanks for the quick reply.

Thanks for that.
May do something like that. The problem is that there isn't really anyone that classifies files. The auto-classification system isn't always accurate either, although it's usually decent.
Groups are probably the hardest to do due to the fact that some files may have multiple groups. Also the system isn't particularly good with batches (torrents with more than 1 episode).
May have a slight hierarchical structure, though I think searching is probably the best way to find files for a show+group.

My suggestion would be a more organised and cleaner interface (maybe a page alternate to the home page?) where you can easily browse each anime and get a list of every episode for that anime. I was thinking of a graphical FTP like interface with the folders being the anime's name, the subfolder would contain either more folders for the fansubs groups and inside those would be the episodes. Then when you click one of them you would get the mirrors for that episode and fansub group. This is just a suggestion for easier use of the website I visit so often. I think it would save some time searching for different episodes from the same fansub group.
Also I want to thank you for all the work you have done and I hope you keep doing it. :)

That's okay, thanks for all the details.
I think one of your biggest issues is that if you know that what you're offering is inferior to what others are, then why are you doing it?
For example, if you know you're going to have a smaller manga selection that others, then why would anyone use yours? If you're just doing it for the hell of it, then sure, but you sound like you're interested in traffic, in which case, you need to consider what your visitors will actually want.
As for "open postings", well NyaaTorrents and TokyoTosho are fairly open, AnimeSuki just look like a more structured, limited version of those (which probably wouldn't do so well if open to public). And there's a number of anime sharing forums around too, probably much more active than yours, so unless yours has a particular advantage, it's probably a pointless thing to try.
Also note that I may add a forum here, which will have tighter integration with the user system than could probably be achieved across websites. Although, as somewhat suggested above, I don't really intend to duplicate what other forums do well at (unless that's what users want). I expect the forum will mostly be a replacement to this feedback page.
Unfortunately, my thoughts on expanding this site are mostly just mirroring more content (eg non-anime sections, scraping off Nyaa etc, although whether or not these ever get done will depend on a number of things) and don't really align to your community. Perhaps if you could offer something unique and integrate-able, I'd consider it. An example may be the recent adding of Fanzub NZBs here - only anime focused NZB listing website that I know of, so linking to them if users want to download via newsgroups. However, I really can't think of what you could do - you'll have to consider your capabilities and come up with the inspiration there.

Thanks for replying, I really do appreciate it.
To put it simply, I'm trying to bring new services to my community. The site name is Anime Toshokan and yet it doesn't live up to it's name, in sense. A anime library with no content for the user to use. I've tried various side projects and they worked for a time but other groups have come and did what I've done also but better and faster (IE: Doujin game distribution, stepmania development, fansubbing, etc.). My current project right now for adding a new service on my site is making a manga reader section which I do have but I wont open it no time soon till I have content on it. It might not never be as big some of the big names but it's just something to have for a select choice of manga people like to read.
Adding an actual anime library to the main list of service on A-T will actually give the site meaning and probably more traffic flow. That is the point of me coming to you. I'm trying to find a group or person whom is already doing such things to help with this project. In a sense, AniTosho has a community of people willing to help distribute or post material for others. I wish to provide a hub or central location for people to talk and discuss things regarding the releases posted here.....you can say it's sorta like how Animesuki is but not as closed sourced in terms what can be posted and such.
I'm not saying that one of use transfer said resources to the other but rather collaborate on bringing traffic to both sites. People can find what they are looking for here and if not, they can transferred to my site and post a request to what they are looking for and have the community help them out that way. as well. It's something along those lines but I'm still working out all the major details but I can't seem to do that without some kind of input which is why my friend told me to ask around which lead me to here.
Sorry for sounding so long winded as I do tend to type a lot like I do on my own site. Well, if you can give me your opinion or thoughts about the idea then let me know.

Sure, I am open to ideas about expanding the website here, and I don't mind the idea of "some sort of collaboration", though you'll probably have to elaborate on what you exactly mean by that.
Sorry to hear that your community died, though I'm not sure what I can really do to help you out unfortunately (so if you had any idea, again, you'd have to elaborate on it).

Hello! Just wanted to say thanks for all the work you're doing around here admin. Not that you don't get many people out there that do thank you but I thought it would be nice to say so.
Also, I wanted to ask if you by any chance have any thought of expanding your site services? Before I go off the high end, I'm the owner of the site "Anime Toshokan Inc."....sorry, had the site name for over 10 or so years and I'm trying to rebuild my community from the dead doorstep that it is right now. A friend of mine suggested me to take a chance in asking if you'll be interested in some sort of collaboration project between our sites in a sense. If you're willing to hear me out, please let me know or contact me on my site at www.animetoshokan.org .
Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you. Thanks again.

Yo! Thanks for the quick action bro.
And thanks for being always active.

Actually quite a number of "thanks" messages around the place :)
Really appreciate them, although I rarely respond (because it gets repetitive).
This site pretty much completely automatic - people should probably be thanking the fansub groups instead, who put all their time into making releases for everyone else :P

People needs to be thankful, seriously. I see not even 1 thank you comments on this website. This website have such a good service and yet people dont even wanted to take a few seconds to show appreciation for what they get, whats wrong with showing appreciation to the guys/girls that spent their time EVERYDAY to provide you FREE ddl downloads?
That's cause I suck at coding lol. Hopefully the commenting works properly now - if not, please bug me about it :P
I've just made it that you can put a phrase in double-quotes and it will search it whole without mangling the terms at all (still case insensitive though).
https://animetosho.torrentbay.st/search?q="(hi10)"
I'll probably be overhauling the search function in the future anyway.

Is there any way to include parenthesis during search? I was searching for Hi10 Anime re-encodes (sample: https://animetosho.torrentbay.st/view/461782 ), typed in "(Hi10)" and found that only "Hi10" was searched (parenthesis were ignored). I blame their file-naming, really, but is there any workaround for this?
EDIT: Also, every time I add a new comment here, I seem to always get thrown to page 3 of the feedback page.

I found a new file hosting at http://gotupload.com/ It provides free download like MediaFire. Max filesize is 200MB, too. DL links is not changed frequently like MF.
I think it's even better than MF.
Test link here http://gotupload.com/amc3g1ajy839/Ise_...u.rar.html
btw: it looks exactly the same as azsharing in my country except for free remote upload feature. Lol.

Thanks for clearing up my doubts. It's alright, i try to find ddls for larger files. No worries. Thanks!
You can find MU/FS link at their page www.kira-fansub.com/archives/category/seikon-no-qwaser-bd/
The threshold for batches is set to 1.5GB, so 1.68GB would just be over it unfortunately.
I originally intended not to do batches at all, then I decided to enable it for a limited number of files. I'll need to think about what to do though - the main aim was to reduce the likelihood of reuploading files, and the fact that batches consume lots of bandwidth.
I might just up the limit to 2GB. If you want me to fetch that batch through, I can do it when there's a small queue to process.

Hi, I was wondering why was Coalgirl's Mawaru Penguindrum (720p) BD release (ep 1-3) was skipped even though it wasn't a batch and its file size is only 1.68gb. Of course this is with reference to other coalgirls' releases (hidan no aria / ano hana) that were found on this site.
The files are too old here unfortunately (do they even still have seeds?).
I suggest trying to search for them elsewhere or ask a file sharing forum.

There's a simple blacklist option in the Account Settings - hopefully that's good enough for you.
(note, it doesn't work with feeds)

Hm, a simple blacklisted words filter (like the TokyotoshoLessIsMore script) probably isn't terribly difficult to add into, say, an URL parameter like above. Or actually, an account setting which affects everything might not be too bad either...
Something more extravagant like filtering by title+group+others will probably take more effort and require a bit more designing...
Thanks for the ideas.

Is that script compatible with the latest firefox? Is it secure? Looks promising but I don't know well enough to trust the source code since i cant read them.
Awesome, thanks for getting on this so quickly. :)
Your site is great; I use it for almost every show I watch now since I'm not allowed to torrent on this connection.
Another thing that I was thinking about was filtering by fansubbers too - well, it's more of just searching filenames for terms. Something like having a list of search terms (anime title/fansub group/file extension/whateveryouwant) in your account options that can be either whitelisted or blacklisted. Er... I'm pretty bad at explaining things, so perhaps something like this: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/68068 ?

That's a pretty cool idea actually :)
I just added a very crude thing (cause it's easy to do) which allows you to have some sort of filter for shows you're keeping up with (yeah, I'll need to do a proper interface for it later and so on) but if you're interested, here's how to use it:
Make a comma separated list of "anime IDs" that you want to follow - you can get this by looking at the number at the end of a series link, for example: https ://animetosho.torrentbay.st/series/fate-zero.8160.
So, if you were following Fate/Zero (8160) and Chihayafuru (8538), your comma-separated list would be "8160,8538".
Just use this list in the following feed URL, like so:
https ://animetosho.torrentbay.st/feed/rss2?aids=8160,8538
This gives you an RSS feed which is filtered by the shows you specify (no account required to do this).
I'll need to think about how to implement an interface for this, but thanks again for the suggestion!

Not sure if it's already been requested, but account-based filtering would be nice (i.e. restrict the files you see by default) so that if you're keeping up with multiple shows you don't have to search individually. If it's difficult to implement then that's alright; it's already nice enough having DDLs readily available for everything.
I may do other (non-anime) categories later on, but yeah, sticking with just anime for now.
From what I can see, I'll most likely need another server to handle anything more than just anime, so will also depend on whether I can be bothered funding it too.
Thanks for the suggestion nonetheless.

Mabye, when you guys are more stable u can support downloads from sukebei.nyaa.eu too :)
Sorry, we don't upload arbitrary things, only stuff which is newly posted to TokyoTosho.
Try requesting at a filesharing forum to see if someone will oblige.

Actually, MultiUpload is what's being used for most of the uploads here :) Very reliable and good upload speeds. Also, they usually don't mangle up filenames.
FileServe and FileSonic seem to only be recently added, and you'll probably note that all the new uploads have them. MultiUpload does change what hosts they support from time to time, so it's possible they'll drop FileServe / FileSonic in the future too.
By the way, before anyone mentions it, I've tried MirrorCreator, but they seem to limit the amount you can upload, probably limited by IP address.

It will move onto the next file whilst the old one is held in the queue. It would be pretty pointless just to stall for 2 hours :P
Anyway, the queue is going down at the moment, so that's all good at least :)

Great site. One suggestion though...

We used to upload to EmbedUpload which does send to Fileserve/Filesonic [example file] but at the moment, the service is causing issues (it's throwing lots of errors) so it has been disabled.
Hoping to enable it in the future, but only after issues are sorted (if ever...).
If you do know of a decent and reliable multi-uploader, I'm willing to look into it.
Try multiupload.com , I use it occasionally, its pretty good. In addition to supporting fs/fsc and remote http uploads, it also stores files on their servers, so that makes for an easy DDL link.
Hope I helped :)

I'm seeing a traffic jam for the upload queue, hope it is nothing too serious. So if it holds the file for 2 hours, does new file get processed first or the system holds the older file for 2 hours before processing and uploading new files?
It doesn't appear to be EmbedUpload this time; before I re-enabled it, I did make a few changes to the script which should make it less of an issue.
MediaFire seems to be throwing a lot of errors recently - don't really know why, but I've tweaking the script for a while now and I'll just come back and check in a few hours to see if things get better.
I did recently make a change to try and make uploads a bit more reliable. Previously the script would retry uploading if it got an error, and after a few times of failures, would give up and move on. Instead of just giving up, the script will now hold onto the file and try uploading again at a later time (say, in 2 hours' time).
This behaviour does have the effect of slowing everything down if there are a lot of errors (since it doesn't give up on uploading files so easily), but if there usually isn't many errors, should be more reliable.

Admin, is the embedupload service still causing you trouble? It seems that some of the new uploads doesn't have MF links yet.
