Here's some uncommonly good news for a series post from 2012 --AOT provides their own private torrent and download service for this series.  (The torrent downloads from http://download.animeout.com)

1. Click on the link above this sentence.  Go about half way to the bottom of the page you land on.  You'll see a banner that says, "Direct-Download Links | Torrent Links for Bakemonogatari 480p 70MB miniSD/miniBD Encodes"

2. Click on the torrent for torrent OR right-click on the "Direct Download" and choose:
a. "Save link as" for a simple download or
b. or "Copy link to clipboard" or whatever you use if you have a file manager.

Simple download: about 75Kps; FreeDownloadManager: about 700Kps.

If you left-click on "Direct Download" it just tells you it can't stream the file for viewing.

I think they offer this service for all or most of their shows, so mini-encode fans take note and pillage while its still there.

I believe this is a DVD release, so 480p native that's been upscaled to 720p.  That's probably why they sent it to TT instead of Nyaa which doesn't allow pixel upscales.  The preview pictures look like upscales to me -and not very impressive in any case.  That, and the lack of an English translation.

P.S. I think the episodes are 10 - 15 minutes each, hence the smaller file sizes, if i recall correctly.

One desccription says 704x480, another says 1280x720. Which is it?

1) The movie I really liked it, even though it's still in second place compared to 5 centimeters per second, but it definitely deserves thumbs up! (I wonder if in the future we're going to have a thumbs up/down system here on TA? it would be useful I think).

2) For the pictures the quality is great, as jpg snapshots probably there's a minor quality loss compared to the original frames (maybe use bitmap?), but they still helped to understand the overall quality, at least for me, that's why I got interested in this file at first.

Japanese audio, no subs.  Unless there are ass files inside the 7z file that is inside another 7z file.
