--AK website with lucky timing.  Also got Girls und Panzer manga vols and a couple of other interesting looking manga projects.  With their interest in other projects such as Uppote!  Sora no Woto (a must see anime imho, with opening by Kalafina) and Sailor-fuku to Jūsensha as well as Girls und Panzer, I guess I would classify AK as a "Female-Fantasy-Military-Manga" group.

Found it!  Here's a link to download AK-Sub's version of OVA1 (BD 1080p) AND -something else not at AnimeTosho yet from anyone else- BD eps 9 and 10, (1080p only).  Also the rest of the BD episodes, all with AK-Subs original translation.

Does anyone know if there was an ova1 from AK-Subs?  I only see an ova2 in the AT lists.

Now I see why the files are small compared to episode 2. Episode 2 is the only episode that was encoded correctly while all the others are broken encodes.

Author: "I've decided to only sub the first 16 episodes, mainly due to the fact that I can't find all DVDs, and also since I don't really have the time. And of course since ep1-12 are really in need of some proper releases.

Since I won't be finishing the show anyways, I tried to mimic Soldats' releases the best I could. And since ep13-16 were somewhat inconsistent with styling and overall quality, I decided to provide you with those too.

The subtitles used are Soldats' with minor changes to grammar. Expect the timing and typesetting to be way better, however.

Also, there is another version running thru here, up to ep21 so far.  Click on the "Shaman King" link at the top of this page to see the listings.  Sendspace has already been DMCA'ed for probably all eps.  Fichier has some at least.  This series by "You-Vokr" (? I think) is not quite as nice looking (a little color strangeness in places) and doesn't sub the OP or EN.

Your not going to get 848x480 unless you stretch the video and make it look ridiculous, also there's no blu-ray for this so 720p isn't an option either, unless you upscale the DVD's which would look horrible.
