There's no such plans at the moment. As some have mentioned, I don't believe it would be particularly useful.
My general experience is that toxic people tend to be willing to go to great lengths with bypassing restrictions.

Membership allows Admin to better moderate, that's why most sites have it.

You cite the "toxicity" of Nyaa comments, but Nyaa comments are member only.  So membership does not help what's ailing you.  What you are looking for is heavy moderation of comments, which I don't believe is AT's mission.

If you are unable to recognize the toxicity of comments—both directed at me and in general—it suggests there may be an issue with your perception. Allowing comments only from members helps moderation (timeouts, bans (from commenting at all, or on some criterias)), this is why many sites restrict comments to non-members.

As I mentioned, I will await @admin's response. He has a better understanding than either of us regarding the number of trolls and toxic individuals on the site, as well as whether this feedback needs to be addressed.

There seems to be a significant presence Nyaanons (Toxic users) on AT, and I question whether manually removing harmful comments is an effective solution.
Without restrictions, these individuals can continue to post even after their toxic comments are deleted.

Implementing a "members only" policy would enable you to impose timeouts or even ban problematic users, which I believe would enhance moderation efforts and save you time in the long run.
