I think it's fine the way it is now. If that person downloaded the audio instead of the full file then it's kinda their own fault for ignoring the "audio" on the left.

Unfortunately no.
I keep bugging the host every few hours; they blame the lack of staff around during the weekend to do anything.
The latest update (which took them a very long time to provide) is that the server may not be fixable (they can't IPMI), so they'll issue me a new one. I still haven't gotten that yet, or any further updates unfortunately.

If I do get issued a new server, I'll start the setup process ASAP, which will take several hours at least. Then transferring ~880GB of files will likely take many more.
That's as much as I know of right now. Sorry for the extended downtime and hope that helps.

If people are mistakenly downloading the Audio extracts without realising that they're not the full file, I'm interested in ways to make the distinction more obvious.
I'm happy to hear suggestions on how to emphasise those links as being audio-only, if anyone has any ideas.

So... any idea how long it's gonna take for the storage server to be fixed? It's been down for a while now...

Latest I've heard is that the host can't get IPMI working and that they may issue me a new server. Somewhat annoying to have to wait so long to be told that.

Once they do issue me a new server, I can start setting everything up on it. The ~880GB of storage files may take a while to transfer though.

love messages to admin in this difficult time, hopefully the server issues willl be resolved soon.
In other words when you can't do proper filtering yourself just reencode some other filtered release. lmao

I have been using animetosho as usenet indexer but i have gotten error now. Unable to connect to indexer, please check your DNS settings and ensure IPv6 is working or disabled. Connection refused (feed.animetosho.torrentbay.st:443). I havent changed anything. Anyone with some idea why and what i can do ?
i ain't reading all that
i'm happy for u tho
or sorry that happened
holy sheeeet, keep calm guys...
being ignorant is a thing, but spreading misinformation is diabolical: it's only gonna impact the not-so-knowledgeable average user, which ends up missing on a good release by reading your closed-minded comment just because u have zero knowledge of anything but feel the right to say something without verifying anything or wondering why some choices were made.
in short: there's no way Im gonna pick a shitty untouched BD to make my encode when a perfectly filtered release is already available; that release already fixes everything that was wrong in the untouched BD and makes the quality of the media files way superior to the untouched originals; as sav1or already said, this kind of information was available both on the source's release description (that I linked in the description of my release and even in the info.txt file) and on sneedex, with multiple comparisons too, but u didnt even bother to check by yourselves and started to spread misinformation....
no words honestly.

I thank sav1or for taking his time to explain the tecnical part in detail and to inform me about this sad event, and trix for basically speaking the mind of every competent encoder in situations like these
Trololol, love trolls that can fire up the juggheads.
We can't do much else about seeding (despite what the LLM mimic says) besides checking our own connection but for this particular release we can offer this DDL on MultiUp here (https://multiup.io/project/34b31530b18ef7f3d89c8d1afa306c77). MultiUp is very slow on uploading so if you see this early just check again later as it needs time to process all the episodes. Most of the providers on AT expire within a week and this MultiUp link will likely do the same so hopefully you're able to grab it before it expires. Otherwise, we can try again another time perhaps directly to GoFile instead. We could also try zipping it into an archive/rar file so it's easier to download from a single link rather than individual episodes.

Have a nice day,
-Sav1or
Again, if you had actually asked us for real information we could have provided it to you. Now, we have to correct the false statements you've copy-pasted from your LLM while trying to mimic us. We have no idea what TogeToge is. Never heard of it and we're not interested in "delving deeper into it" nor are we going to share our opinions on the show for that matter. There will be no update or investigation.

Otherwise, this is excellent information that could have very easily been acquired from just opening any one of the links that AT provides when viewing a show page. There was no need to spend resources on an expensive LLM to generate that info.

Enjoy,
-Sav1or
Well, it would have been nice to ask us if those things were true before you went and claimed it for us. That way, the LLM could have more accurate info before it spits out some false statements. Everything else was some nice boilerplate though!

Anyways, we have no contact with other seeders. Never have, never will. Also, we never pressure anyone to continue seeding or whatever because we understand everyone has their own circumstances and it's not always feasible. That being said, we agree that the long-term success of the release ultimately depends on the few who decide to keep it in their storage. But we're not going to do anything extra like spend additional capital or ask others to do free work. If it lives it lives and if it dies it dies - oh well what a shame.

Toodles,
-Sav1or
Comment in [Sav1or] Tari Tari [BD][1080p][AV1][OPUS]
22/09/2024 13:46 — Anonymous: "Sav1or"
Thank you for the question and for your curiosity regarding the relationship between TariTari and TogeToge. While at first glance the titles may evoke a sense of similarity due to their rhythmic structure and use of repetition, these two series are, in fact, not directly related in terms of plot, characters, or production. However, I can see how such an inquiry arises, as anime titles often share thematic or stylistic elements that create these associations.

TariTari is a slice-of-life anime produced by P.A. Works, airing in 2012. It centers around a group of high school students who form a choir club and experience the emotional and personal growth typical of the genre. Music plays a pivotal role, and the series delves into the everyday lives of the characters as they navigate the transitional period of adolescence, friendship, and the pursuit of their dreams. TariTari is particularly known for its heartfelt tone, stunning animation, and character-driven narrativeโ€”a hallmark of P.A. Works' school-themed projects.

On the other hand, TogeToge (if you are referring to the title in the same medium) is not a widely recognized or mainstream series, and without further context or more information, it is difficult to ascertain the exact nature of the title. If it exists, it could either be a lesser-known or more recent anime or manga, perhaps more niche or experimental in style, or a fan creation not widely distributed. Alternatively, you could be referring to an unrelated work in a different genre or medium entirely. If this is the case, it would be helpful to specify, as the landscape of anime and manga is vast and filled with many smaller, independent projects that might not be on the radar of the mainstream community.

That being said, to the best of my knowledge, there is no shared universe, crossover, or official linkage between TariTari and any series titled TogeToge. The similarity in their names appears to be coincidental rather than intentional. If TogeToge is an original creation or a recent release, it might be interesting to delve deeper into it, and I would encourage you to explore both titles individually to appreciate their unique storytelling approaches.

Should you come across more details regarding TogeToge, feel free to share, as I would be happy to investigate further and update the community on any potential connections or thematic similarities that may have gone unnoticed.

Cheers,
-Sav1or
Thank you for your comment and for bringing this to our attention! We completely understand how frustrating it can be when you're eager to download and enjoy the content but are held up by a lack of available seeders. Rest assured, you're not alone in this request, and we're actively monitoring the situation.

Unfortunately, torrent health can sometimes fluctuate, particularly with older or less popular releases, as peers may not always stay connected or seeding for an extended period. That said, weโ€™ve been in contact with some of the original seeders and will try to encourage them to reconnect and help get things moving again. I would also recommend keeping your client open and checking back periodically, as these things can take a bit of time, depending on different time zones and internet availability.

In the meantime, weโ€™d like to encourage others in the community who may have completed the download to please continue seeding if possible, to ensure everyone can access and enjoy the files as quickly as possible. Torrenting is very much a collaborative effort, and every little bit helps to keep these files alive for future downloaders.

Iโ€™ll be doing what I can on my end as well to ensure that more seeders become available. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time and hope that the situation improves soon. Please don't hesitate to let us know if the issue persists for an extended period, and we will continue doing our best to assist.

Thank you once again for your support of the torrent and the community.

Cheers,
-Sav1or

Thanks for the report. This should hopefully be fixed now.
To TLDR what Sav1or said in a frank manner, you clowns shouldn't open your mouth on this matter when you're this clueless, closed-minded and incapable of thinking for yourself.
Have you tried their website?
It's quite disheartening to see that people would rather spend the time sharing provably false opinions stated as if they were fact based on misinformation when they could have so easily clicked on a link in the description or read the info.txt file to understand what's really going on. Here we go:

What is the best source available right now?

SCY. Read their image comparison from Sneedex if you don't believe them. Also see what is noted on Sneedex - they seem to agree.

[SCY] Hellsing Ultimate (BD 1080p Hi10 FLAC) [Dual-Audio] Description Excerpt:

The main reason I encoded this is because I wasnโ€™t quite satisfied with the encodes from Salender-Raws, which lacked any sort of edgefixing, cropping, scenefiltering or rescaling. The lack of rescaling is especially important, considering all episodes were produced at 540p/720p. Despite that, I chose to do a 1080p release to accommodate for the lossless 5.1/2.0 audio tracks. Plus, and while definitely a rarity, some episodes do actually feature native 900p and 1080p content.

Overall, filtering comes down to rescaling, anti-aliasing, edgefixing, cropping, adaptive denoising, debanding and dehaloing. Naturally, I used different filtering for most episodes to accommodate for their native resolution and source defects. One thing I should probably mention is that episodes 2-4 feature hundreds of Q-TEC upscaled scenes. Originally, these were heavily oversharpened a contained a lot of aliasing and haloing. I went through every episode manually and scenefiltered these scenes with extra strong anti-aliasing and dehaloing. Credits and 1080p elements were scenefiltered as well, except for some episodes where the background content featured Q-TEC upscaling.

There's a BDMV on Nyaa right now with 2 seeders, why not use that?

The BDMV available on Nyaa appears to be the USBD, which the Slowpoke Pics comparisons from Sneedex demonstrates that it is not favorable to an encode from SCY. Even if it were the preferred ITBD, you would have to replicate all the filtering and effort that SCY went through to ultimately make a Mini-encode. Why buy a plastic toothbrush when you could forge your own with solid titanium instead? Why don't we produce our own silk for toilet paper? Must we continue with these strange analogies?

You must always use BDMVs when encoding. Otherwise, don't even bother, right?

Sometimes they simply aren't available, at least not publicly. Sometimes they're known to be worse than other sources, even encoded ones. Sometimes you simply aren't interested in redoing complex filtering just to declare that you used the "best" source for a Mini-encode.

You're not mistaken that using an encode can be a sign that the encoder has no clue what they're doing when they could have clearly used a better source but in this instance, you're completely wrong. What you're using is a generalization that is usually correct but when stated in a case where it doesn't apply, it makes you look like a fool who is just blindly parroting others without having your own original, useful thought.

Don't be silly.

Cheers,
-Sav1or

After the maintenace, the RSS feed seems to be broken, shows unable to connect in browser and apps like Miru can't fetch torrents D:
Guilty as charged. And our lives won't ever depend on it.

A lot of our work is automated and we don't have time to watch every series - not even for example our own Princess Principal release despite planning to redo it with a better source and add the new movie. There are some releases we'll never watch because we don't find them interesting. We have watched some series months after they were released. We've seen some, such as Railgun, that also suffered from the same issues as Yuru Camp. We plan to of course replace them with better versions in the future.

Yes apart from the web-server problem the site has not updated the recent releases for like 5 hours+

Tho we had a similar issue like some months ago i assume will take 2-3 days to fix it.
Girls und Panzer has slowed down and was delayed since our GPU stopped working and we have been prioritizing other projects in the interim but here's a preview of the progress so far: https://imgur.com/a/XGKpj9g

Before our GPU stopped working we were able to fortunately finish rescaling the entirety of Season 1 so both Sav1or and Sav1our releases will have a rescaled Season 1 straight from the BDMV. The resolution was already very high (900p) so the difference is very hard to notice in most scenes but at least it was completed. Fortunately, the movies might not need the same treatment so we'll be encoding those as is. We've added all the audio commentary we could find. We are also considering modifying AK-Submarine's subtitles but with text extracted from the German PGS subtitles to have styled German subtitles but that's a very lofty goal for a language we don't understand so that might not happen. At the very least, we'll have a ton more German audio and subtitles available thanks to a new source. And since we're on the topic of sourcing subtitles, if anyone has subtitles in other languages besides Japanese, English, and German we would appreciate a link. We know of someone's personal project to make Spanish subtitles but those seemed difficult to get. Also some of the Tank Corner episodes don't have any subtitles whatsoever since they don't exist (yet) but we've included them regardless for the sake of completeness.

We hope to have GnP done before the end of the year or perhaps within the next month.

Cheers,
-Sav1or
Hey there, thanks for compiling this list of issues with this release - we have been aware of some of them for some time now so sorry for any inconveniences it has caused. This was brought up in the Anime AV1 Discord server and became a meme of sorts every time L-Smash as a chunking method was suspected to be a culprit of decode issues. Our investigation into the issue yielded some new information and has since changed our tool set whenever possible. You can read more about it here. Not everyone has access to the Discord so here is our quote below:

I'm aware a good portion of my encodes are corrupted by LSmash chunking issues and a few from Grav1synth before I figured out what was causing it. Both of these are solved now and the former involves a costly fix but is not impossible.
Errors in video streams exist for many releases but here are the few ones I have plans or at least desires to redo with better sources, new mitigations, and new encoding setups:

* Girls und Panzer - All BDMV sourced + rescaled. Huge project currently underway. Plagued by Grav1synth + Lsmash and then "patched" without fully understanding what caused the issue. I got the most flak for making a v3 of this. Never before have I been so intensely insulted and berated for doing such a bad job.
* Yuru Camp - Basically a recurring meme where scenes are destroyed by LSmash chunking.
* Honzuki - Lsmash again, and it's my first project which I redid once already. Dgdecnv which did not exist then is now available.
* Railgun - Lsmash. No one has said anything but I watched it and it happened many times. Would like to redo along with the Index and Accelerator series.
* Golden Time - Lsmash on E16. Want to redo with BDMV.
* Princess Principal - No known issues, haven't watched it yet but I want to redo with new setup + use BDMVs.
* Gunslinger Girl - Lsmash. Grav1synth. Want to redo with modern SVT internal FGS.
* LoGH OG - No known issues but want to redo with the 255gb source.

I'm aware of Lsmash issues with Death Note and Bakemono no Ko, but am not redoing them.

I'll reiterate that I do not do subtitling or typesetting or QC. If the source subtitles are bad and there is no better source then that's the best we have and I have no interest in improving it. I also have yet to find/make a solution that fixes missing fonts so if my source has missing fonts in 1 random episode then that's the best we got. Unless someone can present a 1-click batch solution then that won't change.

In short, using L-Smash in Av1an has known issues and fortunately they can be avoided by using certain older versions of DGDecNV and/or recent versions of BestSource. Unfortunately, there is no perfect chunking method that always works and is the most performant. We learned this the hard way and there are many users who still doubt this knowledge because their experience doesn't reflect ours and others like us.

So back to Yuru Camp; we decided to wait until the 3rd season BD and the accompanying English dub was available before tackling this project again so there will be a new Dual Audio release eventually using a different chunking method less prone to issues that plagued this one. We currently do not have a working GPU so our only option is to use BestSource. However, a lot of recent releases have been using it and the decoded output is quite reliable so we expect the next version to be free of those issues. We also have our Normal-Boost Multi-Pass algorithm that would be a great boon to image quality. There have also been great strides in improving quality from SVT-AV1 - chiefly Variance Boost and faster encoding at lower/better presets - that would improve the next release.

Cheers,
-Sav1or
