Using the English [eng, ASS] attachment on the ASW version I have no problems in mpv (text displays in full over 2 lines) so not normal. The corresponding line in the ass file is:

Text cut-off is usually a font issue (but the mkv file has all the nessecary fonts and honesrly most PCs do as well). I find it odd that this is specifying a font choice in dialogue (rather then setting it in style and calling that style instead of Default) and perhaps that causes some media players to trip up.

A couple of the videos don't have audio in sync, whilst some only have two English audio tracks instead of Japanese + English. Overall it's a great batch as it has no pre-set style formatting for the subtitles but it's a bit frustrating having to watch something not synced audio-wise or in English when you're watching it all in Japanese.

When I was releasing encodes I made sure VLC would play it knowing the other 2 would.
