Why is the reading comprehension level so low for everyone?
The whole discussion is about telling the uploader to mention that his own releases are made with NVENC, because it's WELL KNOWN how bad those are, nothing else.
Instead, he hides the info at the end of a long description on an external link (sometimes even trolls writing "secret settings") and goes mad when someone simply tells him that encoding with NVENC instead of using a normal software encoder, like EVERY SANE PERSON on Earth, is bad and should at least be made clear for those who download.
Do you realize that this guy's releases are literally the ONLY NVENC+FLAC AV1 encodes on the planet?
An AV1 release with FLAC audio is already a heresy, but NVENC too?! Seriously?!
Do you think that literally every other encoder on the scene avoids such nonsense choices because they are stupid???
They are even fighting for your own good, trying to get this (disgusting, as shown in his crazy behaviour on nyaa) person to reason a little, and you dont even take a second to ask yourself why all this happens?
Try to comprehend the topic before writing random comments that show your completely lack of awareness.
What happened to this torrent? No seeders are up
The pages are removed from all listings - the only way to actually reach them is via links you've saved or via the comments (in which case, the reader is actively reading the comments).
This episode was released on the 1-year anniversary of KawaSubs's first release.
DDLs are absolutely still up, and so are the torrent downloads and magnet links, unless literally all you can do is add a notice
I'm not sure how that relates to the topic here, but I do care about removing malicious content. If you find such that hasn't been removed, please do comment there so I can action appropriately.
You are of course free to pick whatever release takes your fancy - a goal here is to not curate beyond what the upstream sites do so that you have this freedom.
The point of the criticism here and NekoTrix's explanation is to provide information to those that may have overlooked the encoding aspect, and possibly encourage the uploader to improve. With this information, you can come to your own conclusions, which may differ from what others conclude.
There are even some fake videos with virus uploaded here he doesn't care about, what an irony OP

Is there anything to be gained from attacking someone whom you believe is not interested in listening?
Why don't you(plural) do a simple research online? Or even just ask the AI?
Well you pointed out this yourself:
Unaware people come here to download a release
If readers did research, they wouldn't be unaware, would they?
And since it's targeted at unaware people, the assumption is that this research hasn't been done.

But if the poster doesn't want to do that, that's fine - I only gave a suggestion for more effective messaging.

you go and delete their extremely useful comments? Doesn't really make sense to me tbh :/
I'm not sure how effective the blind copy/paste job is, especially given that some listings the message was posted to already had comments regarding the issue, and many entries were very dated.
There's mechanisms in place here to prevent posting the same message multiple times, which is generally considered spamming/flooding, and I don't look fondly towards attempts to bypass these mechanisms.

I'm not saying the comments weren't useful - I honestly think they have merit and didn't really like the idea of removing them. However, the contents wasn't really the issue here - most of them were removed because of the way they were posted.
Hopefully that makes sense.

Thank you for supplying an explanation - I think the original messaging would've been much more effective if it included what you've put there.
Are you Kimiko or one of his lackeys?
Your comment doesnt make sense otherwise.
Send him our regards.
If I download someones version of a sub or dub from here and like it I will be more likely to do so for their future releases.
I have never prejudged a release based on software that was used to supply me something for free.
It's another virus post, ignore. Deleted on nyaa.
I don't care about your personal problems or your trolling of someone you don't like.
Thanks much!
Contains malicious powershell shortcuts disguised as folders.  Once opened it'll steal saved passwords in common browsers like Chrome and also steal any Wi-Fi passwords it can find.
I'm not opposed to asking for donations as a form of tipping for your work, however Kimiko's releases are extremely low effort yet he's extremely arrogant about it all.
Don't download this. That uploader is not the official uploader of VARYG releases, this is definitely not episode 9
He uses several different names (Koten_Gars for example), and even asks for donations...
He really has no shame...
"Default English subtitles are completely wrong. They seem to be from the previous episode."
Comment on Nyaa said. "English subtitles are from the previous episode."

This debate has to stop for good.

Most people here have no knowledge on the matter and fail to realize this situation has nothing to do with *liking* the release or uploader, but instead with appropriate encoding *practices*. That is to say not about something *subjective*, but something *objective*: hardware encoders *are* worse than software encoders, it's a well-known fact that can easily be explained by the very nature of hardware encoders and is readily documented everywhere on the internet. You can check out the Rigaya blog for instance.

Defending an uploader who resorts to hardware encoding is doing yourself a disservice because you accept being fed something worse than could have been, granted they put a little more effort into it instead of being a lazy ass. The quality would have been higher using a software encoder and targeting the same filesize, that's all that's being criticized here. If you think it has to do with the uploader, you're greatly mistaken. That would be ignoring what the AV1 community has achieved by bringing together numerous encoders who are willing to learn from each other.
Thank you!
Well yeah, if an user couldn't spot that it was wrong in the first place, that means they have no standards to begin with.
Is your problem your reading comprehension or your brain?
Or you're intentionally covering your ears?
What they said is pretty clear and easy to understand, even for a kid.
Why isn't @admin deleting these misinforming comments?
