Dude major thanks, downgrading was the fix. I am not familiar with video playback apps and codec things probably why I stayed with the first one that worked long ago, so I'll try looking into the other stuff whenever I come accross an issue next time.

VLC has a known bug in its latest version 3.0.21 that cannot play non-stereo OPUS audio tracks. This has been a known bug for over a year now and VLC has yet to release a new version that fixes it. You can read more about it on the latest issue from VideoLAN's website here.

You can try downgrading your VLC install to 3.0.20 or use a portable 3.0.20 executable until VideoLAN finally releases update 3.0.22 which should incorporate the fixes for OPUS audio playback. You can also try their Nightly builds which have been confirmed as working. However, given that it has been broken for over a year and it has been repeatedly fixed and broken, consider better alternatives or find a VLC version that works best for you.

If you are open to trying MPV, the Awesome MPV repository is a great way to find a GUI to suit your needs. Although development is on hiatus, mpv.net is still a great GUI for Windows users.

It is a BluRay remux. It has english PGS subtitles, which are easily OCR'ed to a SRT file
(as seen here https://krakenfiles.com/view/AVnc8L28wB/file.html ).
It also has english audio, japanese audio, and english commentary.
There are no commentary subtitles though.
All-in-all, a very nice download. I did use the freeware program MKVToolNix GUI
(https://mkvtoolnix.download/ )
to convert mine to a MKV file, but that is just personal preference.
