Actually, this is even a little weirder than that.  A DVD release = 480p (up to 576p for certain reasons) is generally 4:3 ratio for older series and 16:9 for newer ones (This series was broadcast in 2004, so could be either natively).  But these encodes have been converted to 3:2 ratio.  If they planned to use it on cell phones, perhaps that's why.  Otherwise...weird.  Even so...weird.

The earlier translation efforts by this previously manga-only group were not well received.

Group who plans to sub for free access is a bit slow and usually release 4+ days after airing.

The only thing I don't like about mini-HD (if that's what this is), is that the audio tends to have a tinned sound.
