I gave up I was hoping you'd understand. Your encodes sucks because you simply encoded another encodes. Phew. If you can't understand that then you're not a (good) encoder.

Here's a simple diagram:
SCY : Source -> Encodes (Good)
You : Source -> Ikaos' Encodes -> Your encodes (not good)

If you upload this torrent on Nyaa, your torrent will be marked as remake (red).

As an encoder, I can safely say that it depends on the source.

I'd agree if the source was an HEVC encode from a WEB source for example. Ikaos's release is far from that.

In any case, the encoder's choice for is the encoders choice, just like viewers can choose the encode they want to watch. At least, be able to justify your comments tho.

Only production files can be called "source", and surprise, you can't have them.

if you can't tell the difference between web-dl and webrips, you're in no position to give lecture about encodes in general. SCY uses web-dl (source) to encode not from another encodes like u. Also, u're nowhere near SCY level so please don't use them as comparison. sorry. it's okay if you think your releases are great but that doesn't mean everyone has to agree with you.

If I believed that Ikaos's release wouldn't end up great or that my work would deteriorate DBZ's episodes, I would've used another source or wouldn't have released those experiments.

people who knows about encoding usually encode from the source (bdmv, bdremux, web-dl) not from encodes.

No worries, I'm able to pick releases and Ikaos did great with his encode/filtering.
That being said, i thought I could do some more, and I did.
I believe my release is even better than the original, while maintaining quality at its peak.

Rather than my release, you should worry about mini-encodes.
Did you know that when the episode is received by CR/AMZN/NF, they immediately encode them before releasing it on their website? :O

Dunno man, looks good to me. I have some other DarkDream encodes that also look good. Unless you are aware of some other DVD encode out there that is better than DarkDream's encode, this is the best we have.

DarkDream and perfectly fine don't go together.

DarkDream's v2 DVD encode is perfectly fine.

The BDs look like shit, though. Better to just get a completed DVD encode and avoid this and the BDs. That fan upscale also looks terrible.

Well, besides the fact that I enjoy this version as it is (with the colors it has), I was mostly just experimenting and didn't feel like waiting ages to try a few things I wanted to try that pretty much have nothing to do with colors anyways. That's why 😅

For those that are interested in this series there are several completed BD releases that have seeds.
This is just 1 ep of 26 and it's from DVD, choose wisely.
