You seem to have missed the point they were making: The video track/codec has nothing to do with how the player handles or renders subtitles. If the mashed potatoes (subtitles) are sad and gluey you don't blame it on the steak (video). You also wouldn't eat steak with a spoon (subpar video player) either. Sounds silly when it's put that way, right? That's how silly it sounds to those of us in the scene when we keep hearing this aversion to change (for the better, mind you).

Ultimately it's your choice whether or not you want a flawless or subpar experience,

If you have issues playing av1 files on your favorite player it's easier to just not grab av1.
Why go through the hassle of setting up and learning a new player when there are other releases to grab?

Whoops, S01E14 source had English audio mislabeled as a Japanese track. We used a different source for that audio and fixed it in this v2 release here. All files are the same as the initial release except for S01E14.

Also searching "Another Journey to the West" on anidb currently gives no results. I believe the title is Ji Yao Lu: Qicheng Pian.

EDIT: They just fixed it. Searching "Another Journey to the West" should work now.

There is actually karaoke, but some of it is timed wrong.

I have a script that just parts out the letters and just automatically times it to the line length
its not ment to be a proper karokee  -- just give the impression it is
I usually attempt to fix translation mistakes in the karokee tho
if someone in the future wants to make a proper kara -- they are free to do so

There's no specific filters to exclude non-batches, but you'll likely find that most of the recent stuff are batches, as single episodes don't often get posted after a show has finished airing. Alternatively, you can try sorting by size, since batches will tend to be larger than single episodes.
