I see you conveniently left out the laptop, how sad. Most people are not watching on a big screen and those that do tend to stay away from mini-encodes. Also many just watch once then delete since they don't tend to archive mini's.

You don't know what other people want and I don't care what you want.  All we know is that you're silly enough to waste time on an encode size that you knew wouldn't suit you.  So move on.

This release also is just plain shit even if we ignore the shit video, subs are out of sync in multiple episodes, it uses web audio and the signs track for the dub has a ton of dialogue left in it

Exactly, I get a chuckle out of these frame x frame comparisons. In most cases you won't even notice it when the show is actually running and when you look at the supposed better one (frame) you can see some parts of the scene that look better on the worst (frame).
They should just sit  back and enjoy their own copy while others enjoy theirs.
Most people are watching on a phone or small laptop and wouldn't see the difference in a blind A/B test of the running show..

I think it makes more sense to be consistent than to switch behaviour based on episode number like that. It also fits better with other shows, including those where the first 'season' (or whatever you want to call it) has more episodes than the second 'season'.

The 1990 entry would not be selected because it's not marked as a sequel.

As you mention, Erai-raws doesn't make it clear which Chibi Maruko-chan this file refers to. The tagging bot isn't designed to fix mislabeled or ambiguous naming; it assumes the naming is accurate and does what it can with that.

Also keep in mind that the logic isn't designed for a specific series, it's generic across all shows. To use the earlier example of "Shy episode 18", I believe the current logic is the most accurate overall.

Man!!! Read it completely! (Chinese episodes have OP and ED for each episodes. Japanese episode merge two episodes, so they instead of having 2OPs and 2EDs, they have one OP and one ED per episode)

Slight note to anyone reading: Japanese episodes have different OP song compared to the Original Chinese and different naming also (localized Japanese names, yes!!), which I personally don't like!

Because all the files in this torrent were fetched as single eps here before, therefore this torrent is just duplicate files.

Can anyone tell me why this torrent was skipped? After reading the skipping policy I was unable to figure out what the reason was. Did I miss something?

I've downloaded this torrent a few times now, on different machines, and here I am downloading it again on yet another, and I've had no issues that I can recall.

For additional clarity - I'm not disagreeing with the skipping policy, I only wish to understand why this specific torrent was skipped as I couldn't figure it out.

It's the other way around. The Japanese don't split TV series into seasons (Anime or live action), that's a western notion that is an artifact of a show being localized (or how it would be formatted if it were). AniDB sorts everything the way Japanese production companies release it. Either one 3 to 6-month series after another, or one long, unending run of episodes until the show runs out of steam.

No argument from me that it's nigh impossible to predict how a release group will format their files (1995 should be in the title, Erai-raws is in the wrong here), but now I understand that AT assumes that a seasonal format is being used, or at least thinks it should be used. I still say check for a hit on the raw number first, and only subtract previous "seasons" if there's no match.
