A contributing factor to this is likely because the JP CCs aren't even out, which is what a lot of fansubs will use as a starting point (it will usually have the actual kanji for what is being said, as having that is better than trying to play it by ear, or even worse, use a voice-to-text+translation AI like they did with these subs)
