OK, I actually grabbed this and watched about 20 minutes of it. The subs are not bad other than a couple of mis-spelled words. I didn't even have to guess what that dialog was about. The clown harping about them being bad is full of it. If these were MTL they must have been massaged really well because I couldn't tell they were MTL.
BTW, not one complaint on NYAA about the subs.

Those last 3 parts of the process are so incredibly easy and trivial to do, this isn't really the bulletproof gotcha you think it is.

The sub quality is literally what makes or breaks a release. As a result, the translation being shit makes this entire release worthless.

They produced a video with subs (as bad as they might be), they packaged it together, uploaded it and seeded it. I'd say they produced it just the same as any other group ex for the poor subs.

A lot of people lead busy lives and don't have the free time to learn Japanese and if English isn't their first language they probably don't see mis-translations. But at least they are producing something unlike you.

OP here, I did end up watching both releases, I found the banding in the Hidive Amazon channel stream to be way more distracting than the lower bitrate of the ADN release. (1 example @ ~4:50, although the two streams are not in sync, seems very noticeable in dark scenes) *shrug*

Also, I'm pretty sure SubsPlus+ isn't hanging out on AT shilling their releases. Choice is good so choose what you like.

Just know that you'll be getting a frequently mistranslated and awkwardly worded English translation. As for why anyone would willingly choose to watch such a translation is baffling, but then again, lots of people in today's world choose to do things that make no sense at all.

Why should people have to settle for shit quality subs just because it may take a long time for someone to make good ones? This sentiment of "you should only leave positive comments on something even if it's not actually good, don't be mean!!!! if you criticize it you're just being greedy and ungrateful!!!" is so fucking annoying and I wish people would grow some fucking backbone. Also, Chinese shows are almost always ugly looking CGI garbage with the same storylines and art style so no wonder there's very little to no interest in it overseas. Until they lift their extreme restrictions on media over there I don't expect that to change at all.

If it turns out to be really good then eventually better subs will be released. If its just ok you may never get better subs or better subs may eventually be released but it may take a while.  Sometimes MTL is the best you get. Crying about it is a waste of time. Not always but many times even if you don't know any Chinese you can understand what they meant to say and if you aren't lazy and want better subs you can edit themselves.
