If im not mistaken KMPlayer has its own internal codecs. Even Haali is also integrated within KMP.
But, KMP requires learning though - the issue with gg subs chuunibyou you mentioned, i didnt experience any on my KMP, but it might be because i had tweaked my KMP's various subs and renderer settings before already.

mp4 and avi are hardsub formats.  So you can't turn them off or adjust their font size or position, and since they cause a permanent change to the video file they degrade the image to some extent.  But they require less computer muscle to play and are useable on all sorts of devices.

Thanks for this one. After repeated downloading versions of ep2 from mezashite with invisible subs I decided to stick with your versions. Not sure how you fixed it but you should offer to help those guys out.

Since all the video players are free, I keep several on my home machine up to date.  That's another easy way to be compatible.  For example, gg's version of the 8th Grader Syndrome show has some subs that don't show up on KMP or Potplayer unless you disable gg's default font.  But it plays without modification on MPC-HC/64, so I just use that for their shows.

Works as long as you use players and settings that don't alter the entire system messing each other up.

But regardless of player, the two things I mentioned may not be optional:  
1. The Windows Directshow update at UTW.  They warn that subs may flash or disappear from this point forward without this update.  If they ever do for you, this might be the only solution.  If subs haven't, fine until then.
2. Haali.  Some anime fansub groups slice off the opening and closing sections and have them separate to save a little on file size.  As long as you can avoid these groups, fine.  Otherwise, I don't think any video player reassembles these parts without Haali, even now.

I should mention, some of the best versions of the best shows ever in anime (best translations, best editing, best video) are only available in Ordered Chapters format.

All sorts of issues with MPC and codec packs... =.=; I never get issues using KMPlayer (ver. 3.2 and above), could even play the subs nicely for version 1 of episode 1.

There's another series with the first word "Denpa" that has 12 episodes,  "Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko".  (The girl that wraps herself in a futon and thinks she's an alien.  Fun.)

The "Subversion 13" in this title made me wonder if this was a spoof ("sub-version" as in subtitles version, "subversion" as in subversive) , but several lines of dialogue at the beginning and end read about the same as Doki's version.  The person who sent this also did another series, "GeneShaft v2 Subversion13" so I guess that's just his tag.  Both torrents were listed in red at Nyaa (caution, uncertain, or not-trusted).  GeneShaft had 900 downloads with no comments about a month ago.  Denpa has had 500 downloads so far with no comments.

1. Those are the sections and air date of ep27 according to Wiki.  So it wasn't just a re-cap that sometimes get skipped.
2. No ep27 has been released by Horrible so far, so it's not that we just missed getting it here at AT.  And I found questions but no responses about ep27 at Horrible's blog.
3. It looks like someone has even stepped in to provide this missing episode, but only as an untranslated raw.  So at least this gap hasn't gone unnoticed, and might eventually get fixed.

looks like mine stops playing at 25m07s and the video reads as 25m23s, and their were no credits in site, so who knows...no wait, the credits were a few mninutes before that...

Hmm.  The more I think about it, the more I think these phony-senders need some "tsundere love", by which I mean a torturous death with the merest hint of ambivalence on our part at the end.

And how much of our precious anime storage and download space has been taken up by these phonies?  About 80GB in this single entry (8GB X 10 download sites).  You could have fit a lot of Commie into that space.

It's funny how people are reacting to these, it's very simple DON'T CLICK ON THE LINK! if you are not instrested in it. And I'm sure the admin will remove these once they see them.

Some group or person has been sending torrents to TT and Nyaa describing the contents as English-Translated anime.  And English-Translated anime is automatically routed to here.  As far as I know, no one can put stuff directly here except admin.  So these new folk are targeting Nyaa and TT, and AT is just the victim.

The question that interests me is whether they are doing this because they think it will be appreciated at TT and Nyaa, or are they doing it because they've already burned up their previous outlets with pressure from mega-entertainment corporations like Disney, 20thC Fox, and, in this case, MTV.  If the latter, that's ultra bad for us.
