It's officially released on Mainland China Tencent Video. They've released 4 episodes early + theatrical release.

But I'd be aware with subtitle quality, haven't catch up so I can't tell for sure.

How can you already publish this episode? It's legit. I think official sources are at least 2 weeks late.
I can confirm this episode has good quality. It's 4 days earlier than other sources, but subtitles are good.

How do you gain the ability to go back and change/edit comments you post here?
I fucking love Dolby Vision.
I get your point — data lost to lossy compression is gone, nobody can deny that. But that doesn’t mean remastering or filtering is "bad" or pointless. Anime remasters prove this every year. Take old shows from the 80s/90s: even when the original cels are lost, studios and fans still manage to clean, upscale, and color-correct the video to look far better than the VHS or early TV rips. If "bad source = doomed forever", those Blu-ray restorations wouldn’t exist — yet they do, and they sell because the improvement is obvious.

Also, anime is unique because of its art style. It’s mostly flat colors, strong outlines, and repeating patterns — exactly the kind of material that can be enhanced by filters and AI. Line sharpening, debanding, color stabilization, and AI upscaling don’t "recover" the lost pixels, but they reconstruct them in a way that looks authentic. That’s why things like Anime4K or Waifu2x are widely used: they work specifically because anime isn’t natural footage.

Yeah, exactly — AAC does throw away frequencies permanently, no argument there. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing you can do with it after the fact. Restoration isn’t about magically pulling the lost frequencies back, it’s about making what’s left sound better. Tools can smooth out the artifacts AAC introduces, balance the mids and lows, and even mask the holes so the track feels cleaner and less compressed.

That’s why studios still remaster older anime audio even when the original masters aren’t available — because even from lossy sources, you can make a version that’s more listenable. The missing data doesn’t come back, but the experience can be improved, and that’s ultimately what matters to viewers.

So yeah, mathematically "gone is gone", but practically speaking, remastering works. If what you’re saying were 100% true, there’d be no difference between a VHS fansub and a Blu-ray remaster — but everyone can see and hear the difference immediately. That’s why dismissing all restoration as "bad" doesn’t hold up.

If anyone cares: this has well stylized subs, but they're hardsubs.
The Reason
"Stupid People Become Popular"

Because you keep treating him

Just keep quiet?
Ignore every single one of his releases.
He already knows the source is lossy, what he doesn't know is that he thinks he can recover these generational loss from lossy format using AI. It's futile because the data/information is already lost/missing. These "attempted" recovery of said data is artificial and pointless even using lossless format like FLAC as the output.
Think of it like video video: when you apply filters, you can sometimes fix or improve the quality

Nope, even video remaster is bad. Sure there's people that willing to add filters like debanding and grain, but that's it. If the video file is already bad from the source, you can not restore it at all, unless you're willing to edit from highest possible source available and accessible, which is impossible at the moment unless you're "blackmailing" the studio staff or become part of.

AAC compression removes a lot of the higher frequencies (and even some mids) while also introducing artifacts.
Yes, that's loosy by nature, the details will lost and can not be recovered. Whatever you do, those frequencies will gone forever. Even if you're using AI to do the task, it only do "great" once, and start hallucinating hard after.

NeoLX loves drama and can't just ignore comments.
They said they're trying to correct the audio artifacts, and since they don't wanna lose details after that they encode it to FLAC. It sounds "better" according to them.

Hey admin!
Looks like got missorted because of the file naming and should go over here: ~/anime-gataris.13114

Thanks for everything you do keeping this site up and running! You are a legend.
Also, thanks for putting up with us immature man babies!
What the hell was "punitive" and "offensive" about these comments, admin? Genuine question. And how are the other comments in this thread not? Seems very arbitrary to me. Did they offend YOU in some way?

Because you can't stop posting about them whilst pretending to be multiple people?
Bro still doesn't understand no one talks about him lmao.
That's not how it works.

You use pass through and keep the audio the same.
You can't add something that's missing. If a higher frequency is missing, converting it to another format doesn't magically bring it back.

You don't know what lossy means either.
> The source is lossy
> Preserve more detail

You don't know what lossy means, do you?

Why is page one of comments sections full of messages about NeoLX?
You asked what I'm talking about dum dum, My original reply is to the anon who asked about using someone's subs in their release. I said you should give credits as a courtesy. Me and that anon never talks about your release. Reading is hardest for you, NeoLX.
> Giving credits when you use someone's subtitles in your release. Is that really hard to understand?

--> "in your release", this is who I was replying to.

I guess reading is hard for you.
-> Whatever enhancements and filters you've done on loosy audio, loosy will be always loosy, even in different format/codec and quality.

Think of it like video: when you apply filters, you can sometimes fix or improve the quality. The same idea applies to audio.
AAC compression removes a lot of the higher frequencies (and even some mids) while also introducing artifacts.
My goal is simply to correct those problems and restore the sound as much as possible.

Even though the source is lossy, this version preserves more detail and has fewer artifacts.
