If we're not talking about minis, what are we talking about? Because Erai HEVC transcodes are mini encodes. And when you want to evaluate the quality of an encode, you compare it to other encodes of similar size. Or am I wrong?

I have no issues with erai but calling their releases "quality" is simply wrong. Best source doesn't automatically mean best quality. Especially if you don't know how to encode (looking at you luxury)

What exactly is your criticism of Erai? They release seasonal WEB-DLs and some HEVC transcodes, which look quite alright to me. Where exactly is this quality issue you speak of?

Didn't want to go into details as Ive explained it in detail before but basically with my $2500 oled tv I can absolutely easily tell the difference between formats. Same with my old deceased $2600 led and my old deceased $3000 plasma. However with my $550 led cant really tell the difference very often except a little with micros.

I wouldn't call it theory. Basically what you are able to see with clarity and vibrancy with different media formats depends on the quality of the hardware. A low end or mid-range tv wont give you even close to the color vibrancy, clarity, and overall picture quality as a high end high priced tv.
