I wasn't part of this argument earlier. I made two posts. Calling this conversation idiotic because it was like 150 posts long over Ai subbing and this last one about Ai making billions.
I'm not reading all those comments but what little I did read were the argument over machine translation and Ai translation being different. Are they though? From what I'm reading they are basically the same thing.
IBM`s Watson is currently the smartest Ai in the world and a few of its capabilities are machine learning and machine translation and is capable of translating almost any language perfectly. I doubt its being used in subbing anime but who knows since the American media market has now embraced anime. IBM is making a killing in the finance, medical, and sports, fields to name a few with Watson so I guess its possible they could implement into movie and tv subbing if its profitable enough.

Basically what its stating Machine learning and machine translation are something Ai does so I don't get the entire argument that was made of them being different.
I do understand peoples hesitation between human subbing or Ai. Humans in general are resistant to change. We are creatures of habit.  If any of you care to research these super-smart computers some of them are already capable of perfect translation including slang. Watson definitely is but that doesn't mean all the Ai computers are as capable.

I haven't watched this version. Ive been using subsplease. I'm not going to re-watch it with these subs but some of you that have are saying this translation is terrible. I will take your word for it However I don't see why this created so much bitching. The uploader stated it was done as an experiment. If you don't want to take part in the experiment why bother watching this version at all if its upsetting you? They have to experiment with real world tests whatever to make Ai better and to fix the flaws so it learns better and produces better results.  I would be interested in knowing what AI was used. More than likely it was probably one of the newer startup companies.

I don't think you get it. Remuxes contain lossless copies of the tracks present in the sources, FLAC is a lossless compressed format, meaning it's mathematically identical to the PCM/THD/DTS HD MA sources.

it's interesting that people are fine with the insanely bloated sizes of remuxes in general but for some reason they'll get autistic about whether the audio is PCM or FLAC

You don't mux the video and transcode the audio (or the other way around) just bc I can and tag it as such. That literally defeats the whole idea.
